IRISH BUSINESS DIASPORA PLAYING THEIR PART: The Irish Business Diaspara will be hosting a Business gathering in London which takes place on October 31st at London’s Dorchester Hotel. The event is the culmination of a series of business events which will be taking place in the U.K. Ireland and the United States. The purpose of these gatherings where it will be showcasing the success and the contribution of Irish business leaders and companies in Britain across industries such as construction, manufacturing, tourism, sales and marketing. In attendance will be almost 150 Irish business people who have committed to be part of economic development in Ireland. The Irish Post has recently become an investor in the Irish Voice and also the Irish American magazine. The Irish Voice newspaper is a sister publication of Irishcentral.com and worldirish.com, the two largest Irish diaspora websites have announced the decision to merge with the backing of World Irish shareholders including Denis O’Brien, Dermot Desmond, Chris Horn and Terry Clune. The new website will operate as irishcentral.com and will have offices in New York and Dublin and London. The combined entity will have over 2 million unique visitors monthly making it by far the biggest Irish Diaspora website. This will create a super site for the 70 million Irish worldwide in the U.S, Britain, Canada, Asia and at home in Ireland. The correspondent of the Croom Notes will be in attendance as part of the gathering having had an involvement with the Irish Diaspora for over 30 years.
CROOM DEVELOPMENT MEET AND GREET: Since 2008, Croom Development Association has been working to enhance, support and develop Croom and its environs. But do you really know what the organisation has achieved since then or what it does? Would you like to have a say in what is happening in the town, to have a look at the plans for the Town Park or to talk to those concerned. If so come along to our Meet and Greet Night. This will take place on Thursday, September 12th 2013 at 8pm in the newly opened Enterprise Centre on the Hospital Road. The committee is asking everyone to attend to help to plan for the future for the future of the community. VIDES IRELAND VOLUNTARY WORK: VIDES Ireland is part of an international Voluntary Organisation and promotes voluntary service which has as its focus the protection of human rights, specially those of women, children and young people all over the world. It is an integral part of the work carried on by the Salesian Sisters. Through VIDES we offer young people 20 years and upwards the opportunity to go abroad to a developing country where our Sisters and communities are engaged in meaningful work in Africa and India.
