MURROE BOHER GIRLS GAELIC FOOTBALL: There was heartbreak for Limerick under-16 girls in the All Ireland Football Final Replay. Playing a very tough Westmeath team Limerick lost 2-07 to 2-05 in a game that Limerick could have won. The previous Saturday Limerick had drawn on a scoreline of Limerick 2-12 Westmeath 3-09. Limerick led by 3 points halfway through the second half but a fortunate goal brought Westmeath level before two late frees won it for Westmeath. Limerick nearly had a goal with the last play of the match but it was not to be. Murroe/Boher club is very proud of the 6 girls from the club who contributed to the team effort all through the Munster and All Ireland series, so well done to Saoirse and Aoife Barry, Aisling and Grainne Regan, Alannagh Russell and Shauna Ryan. All bar Aisling are under 16 again next years, making their achievement even more notable. Then it was back to club action entertaining Monaleen in the under-16 County Quarter/Final. A superb display of attacking football by Murroe Boher ensured an 8-11 to 2-05 victory over a fancied Monaleen and they now advance to a semi final meeting with St Ailbes in Boher for a place in the A final.
