Patrickswell : Saturday at 6.30pm. Sunday at 11.30am.
GROW YOUR OWN FOOD: Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, (formerly County Limerick VEC) are now enrolling for FETAC 3 Grow your own Vegetables and FETAC 4 Grow your own Fruit courses in West Limerick. Both courses will take place in Ardagh, on Blackhill Organic Farm, and run one day per week from the week of September 16, 2013 to June 2014. Each participant will have the opportunity to learn how to grow a wide range of delicious foods using organic methods with an emphasis on practical skills and an opportunity to gain certification. ORAL HISTORY TRAINING: West Limerick Resources will be running an Oral History Recording Training Initiative this autumn. Training will consist of two elements. Participants will develop Oral History Interviewing techniques as well as examine the legal and ethical issues relevant to gathering Oral History. The second element of the training will focus on digital voice recording and editing techniques. Training will also explore how oral history can contribute to the local heritage of communities and identify suitable ways of showcasing their research. Training is expected to begin in October and to run one evening per week for 10 weeks. The course is free of charge and open to people living in the West Limerick area. RES OUTREACH MORNING: The Rural Employment Service (RES) will be in the new Ballybrown/Clarina Centre on Wednesday, October 2 to meet with individuals who are experiencing barriers to employment & who would like to explore their career options or work on a career plan. The staff will be there from 10am-1pm. All enquiries will be dealt with in confidence. You can also avail of relevant information on supports & services of West Limerick Resources & other agencies in the community. We look forward to meeting you on the day.
BOSCO TEA PARTY AT SALESIAN SECONDARY COLLEGE, PALLASKENRY: Our Parents Association is organising a Bosco Tea Party at our school on Friday October 11, 2013 in the school hall at 8pm. A table of 8 costs €100. The host invites their guests to attend. They and/or their guests bring their own food, drinks, cutlery, glasses and we will provide tables, the atmosphere and live music entertainment with the Mad Hatters and DJ Nash. A great night is guaranteed to be had by all. The theme of the night is Roaring Twenties so this is a chance to dust down the ‘Flapper’ dress and headpiece or a cloche hat, bobbed hair and perfect the ‘Charleston’.
