DEATH: The death occurred at her home in Merval Park, Clareview in Limerick on Tuesday last of Mrs. Bridget Ward. The lat Bridie (nee Leahy) was born in Knocnadiha in 1927. She was the last surviving member of the family of Bridget and Ned Leahy. The other members of the family who have passed to their eternal reward were Nora, Eileen, Kathleen, Michael, Mary, Joan and Madge. Bridie lived a good long life, she was a great wife and mother and grandmother, with a good sense of humour. She was great company. Her faith meant a great deal to her and she was a regular attender at Mass and the sacraments. She trained as a nurse and worked in Scotland, Dublin and Limerick. In 1957 she married her late husband Martin Ward of Toureen McAuliffe. During her recent illness she received excellent care from her family, especially from her daughter Siobhán. Bridie’s remains were removed from Thompson’s funeral home in Limerick to St. Patrick’s Church, Tournafulla on Friday night last. Her requiem mass was concelebrated by Fr. Willie O’Gorman, Fr. Tom Ryan and Fr. Martin Loftus. Afterwards Bridie was laid to rest beside her husband Martin who died in 2008. Bridie came home to a place she loved so well. To her daughters Siobhán and Carmel, her sons David and Eamonn, family, relatives and friends and neighbours we extend our sincere sympathy. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
