Red cross party: The red cross party held in Rathkeale House Hotel on Friday night last was an outstanding success. Michael O’mohony provided the dance music. And our parish priest Fr Phonsie Cullinan sang a melody of songs, followed by Fr Willie Russell. Thanks to Damien O’Grady, Rathkeale House Hotel, for the excellent meal and the service.

Thomas Street: Even after two accidents on the footpaths in Thomas Street, nothing has been done to repair the footpaths or indeed the street. Now people are complaining that the lights on Thomas Street are not working at night.

Samaritans: Their will be a special evening of entertainment in aid of the Samaritans in the Rathkeale House Hotel on Saturday, April 27l from 8pm onwards.

Welcome to our new sergeant and Gardai: We will now have two sergeants and approximately eight gardai. Newcastle West will be their headquarters. We wish the best of luck to Gardai Alan O’Donnell who has been posted to Pallaskenry. Alan was stationed in Rathkeale for a number of years and will be missed.
