GAA: Cycle/Walk/Run: The big day is almost here!Bruree GAA will hold a fun cycle/walk/run on this Sunday, April 28th, to raise funds for the Senior and Juvenile Clubs. The emphasis of the event will be on the fun, family and health element of the day and everyone is welcome to participate. The event will give families and individuals an opportunity to get out in the fresh air, have a bit of exercise and support their local GAA club. The route will start at the sportsfield and will head on a circular route via the Pump Cross, Knockmore, Dromacommer, Clonbrien, the Forge Cross and Clogher back to the sportsfield. This is about 10k and the walkers and runners/joggers will complete one circuit with the cyclists completing two. All cyclists must wear a helmet and all participants must sign in before starting the event. Participants can supports the fundraising in one of two ways - by filling a sponsorship card or by paying a participation fee on the day. Sponsorship cards will be distributed to all club members and players. Anyone else wishing to secure sponsorship can obtain a card from Johnny Wall (087)1264592. On the day, cyclists are €10 (€15 for a family) and walkers/runners/joggers €5 (€10 for a family).

Players and club members now have sponsorship cards and we hope that you will be generous in your sponsorship of them.

Kerry footballer, Darragh Ó Sé, will officially start the event at Bruree sportsfield and run with the participants.

CAR BOOT SALE: The next car boot sale in aid of the Rockhill Bruree Sportsfield Development Committee will be held on Saturday, April 27th. The venue will once again be the ball alley next to the community centre right in the heart of the village. Sellers can set up from 8.00 am and the admission is €10 for cars or €15 for vans. The sale is open to the public from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm and admission is just €2 for adults. Children are admitted free. Tea and refreshments will be available. The March sale featured a wide variety of items on sale - fresh vegetables, jam, marmalade and honey, free range hen and duck eggs, fowl, footwear, home baking, mats and carpets, books and games, toys, planters and dog houses, burgers and hot dogs and a wide range of household and fancy goods.

The next away outing is to Tipperary Golf Club on Saturday, May 25th.

The first round of the Star competition is against Galbally at Charleville on Saturday, April 27th at 3.00 pm.

All involved in the matchplay are asked to have their game played by Saturday. May 18th.
