PALLASGREEN TEMPLEBRADEN DEVELOPMENT ASSOC: The AGM Of the Pallasgreen/Templebraden Development Association will take place on Tuesday night April 30th at 8.30pm in the Community Centre. All are welcome to attend

CHARITY 5 Km RUN/WALK: On this Saturday April 27th at 7.20 pm Friends of Limerick ‘73 will hold a charity 5 Km Run/Walk in Knockane, Pallasgreen. Runners €10 and walkers €5 with all proceeds going to Milford Care Centre, MS Limerick and Lisnagry Association Limerick. A special aspect is our “best of three times” team event. There is no limit to the number of participants on a team but the three lowest times will count. The team with the lowest aggregate times will be the winner. So any GAA, Family, Soccer, Rugby team can participate and make the event a bit more special. As luck would have it we are competing with the Munster Rugby Game and The Limerick Football game which commence at 5.00 pm. The Idler Bar will be showing the games should you wish to get here early. We can stall the start to 7.20 pm . We ask you to make a special effort to attend and thanking you in anticipation of your support. We look forward to seeing you on the night. DARKNESS INTO LIGHT 5K EVENT: Darkness into light 5k Walk in aid of Pieta House( Suicide Prevention Centre) takes place at 4am on Saturday Morning 11th May 2013. Join us for this symbolic event, 20 venues nationwide. See dil.pieta.ie for more details or phone 061 484444.

CHURCH RENOVATION DRAW: We ask promoters to check in with all those whom they distributed cards and to return same to Fr Burns this week or so . We appeal to promoters and all who have taken cards to try and fill them please. Part of the profit from the draw this year will be used to carry out a full examination of Templebraden Church in order to see what renovations need to be carried out and get a cost on same.

PALLASGREEN YOUTH CLUB FASHION SHOW: Pallasgreen Youth Club is presenting a Fashion Show in the Community Centre on the 12th of May. This show will be displaying the latest fashion trends from some of the top shops in Munster, under the expertise of Fashion & Creative Consultant Grainne Vaughan.There will also be numerous stalls available on the night if you wish to purchase a few bits and bobs. Spot prizes on the night. Tickets are €10 each and are available from Youth Club members and leaders.

CHURCH NEWS: Mass for the Holy Souls; Each Tuesday night at 7.30pm followed by adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament until 8.30pm.

Sacrament of Confirmation: Congratulations to the boys and girls who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday last. Sincere thanks to all involved. Novena Prayers to St. Peregrine & St. Therese of Lisieux (The Little Flower); These are available in the sacristy. St. Peregrine is the patron saint for people with cancer. St. Therese has been a great favourite with many people over the years.

LOCAL ATHLETES: The Jacinta O’ Brien 10k was held in Plassey on Sunday morning last . It was a ding dong battle for the first parish man home and the honour went to the more experienced Oliver Ryan. . Martin Franklin had Oliver in his sights at the 6k mark but Oliver (47.12) found an extra gear and finished some 5 seconds ahead of Martin, who ran a Personal Best. The Friends of Limerick 5k on Saturday night next should be a hum dinger between Martin and Oliver. John Barry was next home in 52 minutes and Richard Hayes finished in 59.25 minutes.

The Friends of Limerick 5k Family Run and Walk will take place in Knockane - The Idler - on Saturday night 27th April. With the Munster game starting on T.V. at 5pm the start of the run is put back to 7.20. With the proceeds going to Milford Hospice, Lisnagry Associaton and MS Ireland it is a great opportunity to support the three charities and participate in a community and family event.

The Limerick Half Marathon is on Bank Holiday Sunday 5th May and to date we have three parish participants in the Half Marathon - Denis O’ Connor, Declan O’ Connor, Oliver Ryan, P.J. Quirke and Seamus Hayes with Martin Franklin, John Barry and Richard Hayes considering the 6 Mile Run or the half marathon - further details to follow. . Any parish participants should leave their details on the Facebook Page of Frineds of Limerick 73 and we can include you in our pre run notes.

SENIOR HURLING MATCH: Doon GAA club will host a Senior Hurling match involving Limerick and Wexford to mark Doon’s 125 year anniversary of the Association . The Throw in will take place at 3pm and all support will be appreciated.

HOSPITAL TENNIS CLUB: Would you like to learn a new sport in an fun and relaxed environment? Hospital Tennis Club are organising tennis coaching for new players or for those who want to refresh their tennis skills. Coaching starts on Monday 30th and continues on Tues 7th May, Mon 13th May, Mon 20th May and Mon 27th May. Its a great way to excerise, meet new people and learn a new sport. Club night continues every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30, come along and enjoy a few games of tennis and refreshments all welcome. Membership is now due, Adults €50, children €25 and Family €100. DOON CONVENT PAST PUPILS - THE GATHERING : There will be a gathering of Doon Convent Past Pupils on Tuesday April 30th in Ballykisteen Hotel. It will start about 12 noon. Lunch will be at 1pm followed by conversation with school mates and friends –catching-up time. The session will end
