I was a judge at the Abu Dhabi Rose selection with Arthur Timlin of McGettigans AUH and Edith Flahive, Abu Dhabi Irish Society
I WAS thrilled when I got a call from the president of the Abu Dhabi Irish Society, Jean Maguire, to invite me back again to judge the Abu Dhabi Rose who will represent the city in Tralee in August at the Rose Festival.

I WAS thrilled when I got a call from the president of the Abu Dhabi Irish Society, Jean Maguire, to invite me back again to judge the Abu Dhabi Rose who will represent the city in Tralee in August at the Rose Festival.

The selection which was held in the Westin Hotel and Golf Resort was a great night. The beautiful Deirdre Ward from Donegal was crowned the Abu Dhabi Rose.

I also helped organise the Image Events/Image Model Agency, fashion show which also took place in the Westin
Hotel.

And, I was also delighted to give a style talk to a packed house of ex-pats who turned up in huge numbers. All the ladies were dressed in beautiful spring style. Of course having 22 degrees on a balmy evening didn’t do any harm and added to the whole ambiance.

The Irish ambassador Pat Hennessy and his wife Pauline extended an invitation to my husband Ger and I to lunch at his residence which we were delighted to accept. His residence is in a beautiful part of Abu Dhabi overlooking the Gulf Sea where we relaxed in the wonderful February sunshine.

While I loved my time away it’s also lovely to be back home and I’m greatly looking forward to the official opening of an exhibition of my clothes at the Hunt Museum on March 4 by broadcaster Mary Kennedy.
