STEPHEN RETIRES FROM CU BOARD: Castleconnell native, Stephen Reidy retired as a member of the Board of Directors of Castleconnell Ahane Credit Union after many years of dedicated and outstanding service. He was awarded the prestigious gold chain and appointed to the position of president of the Credit Union at the recent AGM. Stephen and his wife, Rose has two daughters, Majella and Aine. He is also a committee member of An Caisleán, the Castleconnell, Ahane and Montpelier annual since its inception in the mid 90’s. He is a keen photographer, and many of his pictures have graced the cover of An Caisleán over the years.

Stephen also has a great interest in history, particularly local history and helps many people with their enquiries about family. He never misses an event in the parish and always manages to get some photos of local people and places.

CARE OF THE AGED ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY: Wishing all our seniors a very happy and above all Healthy New Year. The Care of the Aged would like to invite all seniors in the Parish to our Annual Christmas Party at the Castle Oaks House Hotel on Sunday, February 9, at 3.00pm. If you have any difficulty in arranging transport please contact your local committee member or phone Ann Ryan on 377193. Looking forward to seeing you there.

CHIROPODY SERVICE FOR SENIORS: Chiropody service for senior citizens will be held on this Friday, in the Health Centre, Castleconnell at 4.30pm.

AN CAISLEÁN IS SELLING VERY WELL: There are some really very interesting stories and pictures in the 17th edition of An Caisleán, which was launched some weeks ago, and is selling very well. The journal records a wide and varied spread of articles, features and happenings of clubs, schools, residents and returned exiles, in pictures, and stories — an ideal present not just for those at home, but for family and friends abroad.

HEALING RETREAT: Maranatha Prayer Ministry invites you for the Healing Retreat through the Ministry of Fr. Michael O’Shea, Limerick and lay speaker, John Delaney, Portlaoise, enriched with Rosary, Eucharistic adoration, Laying on of hands, Mass, Confession, music by the Maranatha Gospel Choir on Sunday next, January 19 from 2.30pm to 7pm at St Paul’s Church, Dooradoyle, Limerick. Tea afterwards in hall, all welcome.
