Bruree Jan 11

NEW YEAR: Large crowds attended the Christmas church ceremonies, swelled by the many people who had made the trip home over the festive season. Some came from various parts of Ireland while many more made the longer trip home from their adopted countries around the world. As has become usual over the past few years, the parish looked very festive with many homes decorated in brightly coloured lights and figures. Santa appears to have been generous, if a little restrained, again this year with the young people of the parish, and indeed, the adults, happy with his visit. We wish all readers of these notes a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
