OPERATION MORE OR LESS: Hi all, it’s that time of the year again when the operation More or Less team hits the scales. For the next ten weeks finishing on Friday, December 20 why not come out each Friday night at 7.30pm to the Ballybrown Resource Centre and weigh in and in the process raise a few euros for Fr. Pat Hogan’s “Calcutta Calling Fund”. We have twenty four people already signed up to the cause but we would like to welcome anyone who would like to lose a few pounds coming up to Christmas. The charge is €2 per night and it is hoped that we will organise a few walks during the ten weeks just for our group. Come along next Friday and please bring a friend. This is a “More or Less” promotion so we cater for all. Thank you.

45 DRIVE: The Thursday night 45 drive in aid of the Ballybrown Resource Centre is going from strength to strength. We have five weeks behind us now and the feedback is very supportive. We had seven tables last Thursday night and for €5 it’s a great night out and in the process you can make some new friends. Under the watchful eye of Joe Purcell and Paddy McCarthy no trumps will be safe. Maura Byrnes and Keith Coughlan are also on hand to ensure that you don’t go home hungry by providing a welcome cup of tea and cake at the end of the evening. Please come out and support this local venture and we in return assure a good night out.

MPCC CREDIT UNION: The Board of Directors of MPCC Credit Union wish to advise that with effect from Friday, November 1, the credit union’s Mungret office will close at 5pm on Fridays and not re-open from 6.00 to 7.00pm.

In the past, it is Directors of MPCC Credit Union who have voluntarily provided this additional evening service for members. Unfortunately, under the Credit Union Act of 2012, voluntary assistants of the credit union are no longer eligible to be Directors of the credit union. As a result, the credit union is no longer in a position to offer the extra evening service on Fridays to its Members in their Mungret office. The credit unions apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Please note that on Fridays, Patrickswell office will continue to remain open until 7pm and our office in Ballybrown Community Centre will continue to be open from 7-8pm.

Full details of all opening hours are available on www.mpcccreditunion.ie

BALLYBROWN NATIONAL SCHOOL NEWS: Claire Shields, who is Secretary of the Ballybrown NS Parents Association, visited the school. She brought with her some giant pumpkins which she and her children have been growing with Halloween in mind. She hollowed out one of the pumpkins and made a Halloween lantern for the Junior Infant classes.
