Following on the policy of downsizing garda resources over the last five years and the upsurge in crime and anti-social behavior, it is vitally important that we continue to support our local garda force by identifying and reporting any public disorder or suspicions of criminal activity. We are currently working on setting up a Text Alert Service in our area to facilitate the above. Please come along on the night to receive information on this and other initiatives that are in progress.

Anyone present at the AGM will be entered for a free draw for a hamper which will take place at the close of the meeting.

OUR LADY OF MEDJUGORJE MESSAGE, 25TH OCTOBER 2013: “Dear children! Today I call you to open yourselves to prayer. Prayer works miracles in you and through you. Therefore, little children, in the simplicity of heart seek of the Most High to give you the strength to be God’s children and for Satan not to shake you like the wind shakes the branches. Little children, decide for God anew and seek only His will – and then you will find joy and peace in Him. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

VISITING BRUFF: “ Mary Widdows of Leamington Spa (nee Coughlan of Camass, Bruff) paid a visit to the area this week accompanied by her daughter Anne and granddaughter, Chloe. Although Mary left Bruff for England in 1955 her memories of growing up in Bruff are as vivid and clear as if it were yesterday. Chloe , a keen sportswoman, was enthralled at her first hurling game (Dromin Athlacca V Ballina ), while Mary reminisced about watching the Bruff hurlers training in Richie Murphy’s field and the excitement of travelling to Kilmallock and Elton for Championship games in the late ‘40’s and 50’s.”

BORD NA NOG NOTES: Bruff U7 hurlers played Ballybricken last Saturday morning for their first time wearing the Bruff colours and they did the colours proud. Bruff got off to a great start with 4 goals in a row with some lovely hurling from both teams and despite a good come back in the last 5 minutes from Ballybricken , the boys held out for a victory. Bruff team Patrick Barry, Conor Clancy. Tristan Connolly, Scot Cronin. Charlie Cronin, Jack fitzgerald, Jack Frenney, Cathal Garvey, Shane Gunning, Paudie Hennessey, Dj keenaghan, Sean Nealon and Mark Purtill. Well done to our young stars and thanks to all who supported. We are holding our Annual Family Table Quiz on Friday 8th November. Come along with all the family and enjoy a fun-filled evening. Time 8pm in GAA clubhouse, €20 per table.
