Here I am with the principal of St Endas Community School Gina OConnor, Jane Bingham-Shee, JCSP librarian, St Endas student Kourtney Fitzpatrick, Cllr Joe Leddin and Hugh McMahon.
I HEARD some intriguing stories at St Enda’s Community School library for the launch of Limerick People: A Collection of Illustrated Biographies.

I HEARD some intriguing stories at St Enda’s Community School library for the launch of Limerick People: A Collection of Illustrated Biographies.

The 14 stories were written by JCSP students from Desmond College, Colaiste Na Trocaire, St Nessan’s Community School, Ard Scoil Mhuire and St Enda’s Community School. Well-known personalities which feature in the book include JP McManus, Dolores O’Riordan, Paul O’Connell, Michael D Higgins and many others including myself. My story was written by Kourtney Fitzpatrick from St Enda’s School who did a really great job. The beautiful illustrations were by Hugh McMahon and it was compiled and edited by the gorgeous Jane Bingham- Shee.

If you are interested in a copy, you can get further details on their website: www.jcsp.ie

I BUMPED into food writer Valerie
O’Connor at the launch of her first cookery book, Bread on the Table. Valerie, who has a colourful professional background ranging from press photography to organic food growing, decided to combine her talents and spent two years working on her book. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love the look and taste of warm, crusty bread with real Irish butter - and there’s also interesting recipes for Irish breakfast pizza, griddle cake burger buns and carrot an dilisk loaf. All sounds delicious!

The book Bread on the Table is published by O’Brien Press and is full of stories and beautiful photography all done by Valerie.
