Mass in Loughill Graveyard: Mass will be said in Loughill Graveyard this Thursday evening 22nd. August at 7.30 p.m.
Dancing Classes: Dancing classes continue every Monday night in the hall in Ballyhahill from 9.00 p.m. until 11.00 p.m. This is always a great night where people get an opportunity to learn the steps of Ballroom dancing, the waltz, quickstep, foxtrot and many more steps. Everyone welcome.
Exams: We would like to say well done to everyone who received their results in the Leaving certificate examination last week. We wish everybody the best of luck in the future.
Ballyhahill Prize Winners: Congratulations to past pupil of Ballyhahill N.S. Maurice Moore, Turraree for winning 1st prize in the U18 poetry competition organized by Glin Development recently. Congratulations also to present pupils Tom and Ellie Healy, Ballyhahill who won 1st prize in the U12 art. The theme of the competition was “The Knight’s Walk”.
Glin Library: Glin Library continues to display work by local Glin artists as well as Carol Noonan’s art and craft. All welcome.
Autumn Fair: Desmond Complex Newcastle West are holding an “ Autumn Fair” Sunday next August 25th. from 1.00 to 6.00 p.m. on the grounds of the Desmond Complex. There will be many attractions on the day including stalls, music, games for children and a draw with some valuable prizes. This fair is intended as a fundraiser but it will also provide information to the people of the local area on the facilities we provide for various groups of people from far and wide. Cycle/Run/Walk: Preparations are moving along nicely for our cycle/run/walk being held on Saturday the 31st. of August and Sunday 1st. of September. The “Three Counties Cycle Challenge” will take place on Saturday the 31st of August and is not for the faint hearted. It will be going through the three counties of Limerick, Cork and Kerry and is about 117km in total. So get your bikes ready!! Over 18’s only please. Entry fee €20. There is a shorter cycle route of 57 km also. The cycle races start at 10.00 a.m. from the hall in Ballyhahill. For more information on the route etc. contact Tom on 086/6014140.
On Sunday 1st. September we will be holding a 5km/10km walk/run. Entry fee is €10. This walk/run starts at 12.00 noon from the hall in Ballyhahill and it will go down the Flean road and down the middle road and then up Curra. For more information contact Martina on 087/ 9145952. We would be very grateful if all dog owners on the route could keep in their dogs during the race. Prizes given.
Showers and refreshments provided on both days.
We are looking for help with stewarding and giving out refreshments so if you are available contact any committee member. Pre registration is advisable - Saturday 24th and Saturday 31st. from 6.30 to 7.30 and Sunday the 25th from 10.30 to 11.30. Registration will be taken in the parish hall Ballyhahill.
