All of the ir teammates and officials from the combined parishes wish both young athletes the best of luck in the final.

Happy 80th birthday: Pat O’Gorman, celebrated his 80th birthday in Ballygran this week, and showed his appreciation of the large turnout of friends and relations by taking to the floor on several occasions and giving his ever robust version of “Shanagolden”.

Soccer club: The parish weekly draw is the Emly Soccer Club interest at the moment, but the Desmond League wil restart on August 23 with ourJunior side playing Ballysteen at 6.30pm.

The local soccer club lottery jackpot is now at €14,900 and the lucky dip winners for the week are Stephen and Byran Sexton, Bruree; Tom Begley, Croom; James Condon c/o Treasa Griffin.

Wheelchair collection: The Irish Wheelchair Association annual collection will be hold on Saturday, Aug 24 and Sunday, Aug 25.

Milford Fair: This year’s Milford Hospice annual fair takes place at the UL Arena on September 1 . Organisers are still looking for sponsorship and donations including, books, clothes, toys, brick-a-brack , etc.
