Wedding: Heartiest congratulations to: Yvonne Stapleton, daughter of Oliver and Carole of Monaleen Park, and David Neiland, son of Michael and Kathleen of Corbally who were married in Spain last week. We wish Yvonne and David a long and happy life together.

Lions Club Used Spectacles Collection: Castletroy & District Lions Club are once again collecting used spectacles. A box is available in the Church. Boxes are also located in Superquinn and the local schools. Your unwanted spectacles could improve the life of a person in the developing world.

Volunteer as a Lay Reader: A ‘roster’ of lay readers provides for each volunteer to read once every two months. We are now seeking additional readers and ask members of the congregation to volunteer to read at your preferred mass-time. Coaching and support will be provided if requested. Please give your name to Msgr Dan or Fr Michael.

Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh: Congratulations to the pupils & staff of Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh who were recently awarded their Fifth Green Flag for biodiversity recently. Pupils from Rang VI & staff travelled to Cork recently for the Awards Ceremony. The Green Schools programme is part of an international environmental education programme and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole-school action for the environment. The school is actively involved in this programme since 2002.

ICA Castletroy: The next ICA Castletroy meeting is on Tuesday 18th June at 8pm in Monaleen GAA Club. All Ladies welcome.

Charity Cycle: On Saturday evening on the June Bank Holiday weekend, the largest number of cyclists ever congregated at Boher Community Centre to raise funds for Cliona’s Foundation, in memory of Ciara McCarthy. Over 130 cyclists left the community centre on a 33k cycle. Over €5k was raised on the night with more money pledged. This exceeded all expectations.

Boher Community Development Association extends a very special thanks to all who participated in the charity cycle. Without your help and support, these events could not have taken place.

‘Care to Drive’ : Patients in need of transport to and from their chemotherapy treatments (inc. bloods, consultant appointments, follow-ups, etc.) can avail of ‘Care to Drive’ - a free transport service to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, Limerick. Photojournalism Exhibition: AIB Castletroy is currently hosting the AIB Photojournalism Exhibition at the Branch until Friday 14th June. All are welcome to come and view the exhibits.

G.A.A. News: Camogie League : Many thanks to all the players, parents, supporters & many volunteers who made this league a great success, with in excess of 110 children playing in the league over the course of the four weekends. A big thank you also to Limerick senior hurling star Gavin O’Mahony for mentoring, refereeing and presenting medals to every single player. Gavin also presented the senior infants/1st class Cup to the captain of the Tipperary team. Also, many thanks again to the Flynn family of Monaleen Park for their donation of a cup in memory of the late Patricia Flynn.

Monaleen GAA Club Family Fun Day: The annual Family Fun Day is on Sunday June 23rd from 1.30pm. Free Admission and Great Craic for all! There will be Children’s Entertainment, Dancing, Cakes, Tea/Coffee, Music, Penalty Shoot Out, Kids Sports Day, Tug of War, Sponge Throwing, Fun Tennis, BBQ, Ice Cream, Spot Prizes, Grand Raffle, Dog Show will include a Fancy Dress Category for owners and their Dogs. All are welcome.
