Cloverfield NS: The Principal, BOM and Parents’ Association of Cloverfield NS would like to thank all who attended the Official Blessing and Opening of the extension to the school which took place in glorious sunshine on the evening of Thursday, 30th May. Following words of welcome from principal Noreen O’Dea the 56 pupils sang an opening hymn and said prayers of the faithful. Fr Conor Hayes blessed the extension and the ribbon was cut by Mrs O’Dea with the help of Alison King, Sinead McCarthy and Cillian Murphy who represented the three classroom groups. The designers, architects and building contractor were thanked for the tremendous work which means that Cloverfield NS now boasts a beautiful spacious classroom and Learning Support classroom. Following the formalities refreshments were served to all and entertainment included a performance by the All Ireland winning drama group under the direction of John Mullane. The evening also included an exhibition of the beautiful art work produced by the pupils during the nine week Artist In Residence programme with Rose Hanley funded by Limerick County Council. We were delighted to have the evening’s proceedings recorded by East Limerick Community Radio thanks to Mary Jackman and Tim Long. The wonderful occasion will undoubtedly be remembered in the local community for many years to come.Again mile buíochas to all who helped in any way with the preparations for the opening. As the school’s motto says “Chun Tosaigh Le Chéile”.
