Mass for the Holy Souls: will take place in St Mary’s Church, Askeaton, on Saturday, November 2 at 7pm. The previous weekend of October 26 and 27, a book will be made available after all masses for parishioners to enter the names of close relatives who have died outside the parish in the last year.
Apostolic Society: Apostolic workers will hold their annual display and sale of work on Mission Sunday, October 20, in the Community Hall at 3pm with all the usual raffles, cake sales, toys, bric-a-brac. Your attendance in the Hall even if only for five minutes will be very much appreciated. Honorary membership subscriptions are now due for renewal and may be paid to the treasurer Breda Kelly. Honorary members are asked to recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary and Gloria for the spread of the Gospel.
Epilepsy Collection: The amount collected last weekend in Askeaton for Epilepsy Ireland was €326.03. Thanks to everyone who contributed and also to the collectors, Pakie, Jimmy and Ann.

Coláiste Mhuire: Walk In My Shoes: The campaign, ‘Walk in My Shoes’ was established after a 16 year old service user in St. Patrick’s University Hospital said he wished his friends could put themselves in his shoes and gain a better understanding of mental health difficulties. Thursday 10th October was Mental Health awareness day and students in Coláiste Mhuire came to school in a variety of eclectic footwear including slippers, wellies, high heels, mismatched shoes and flip-flops to support the campaign. A total of €750 was raised, well done to all involved.
School Enrolment: Coláiste Mhuire is now accepting applications from 6th class pupils for enrolment into 1st Yr 2014. Application Forms are available from the school office. Closing date for completed Application Forms is Wednesday 23rd October 2013.
