Recent death: The death took place in London recently of Martin Hickey formerly of Shoemakers Hill Parteen. Burial in Kilquane cemetery. Regretted by sisters Mary, Bella, Sheila and Cathleen and brother Connie.
Parteen GAA: Parteen Intermediate hurlers advanced to the Quarter finals of the Championships against Sixmilebridge on Sunday last. Parteen GAA Club said, “This was a very exciting game. A draw at full time and a draw after extra time was the result of this very exciting hurling quarter final played at Clonlara. Parteen led 2-09 to Sixmilebridge 2-04 at the break. A fantastic comeback by Parteen in the last ten minutes of the game saw the game end 2-15 to 4-09. In extra time, Parteen trailed by three but fought back again. Brian McSweeney scored a terrific point to draw the teams level at the end. Well done to all involved”.
Top of Meelicks Pop Music Night: A music night was held on Friday 11th of October 2013 at 9pm in Meelick Tavern in aid of Meelick Community Hall.
The music night was a fundraiser to raise funds to help with the maintenance and upkeep of the Hall.
Live music was provided by Oisin Hickey and Eanna Mulvihill and also DJ Dave Madigan.
A raffle took place with some brilliant spot prizes. Meelick Community Hall thanked all of those that came and supported the night. A great night was had by all.
Parteen St. Nicholas Lotto Draw: Lotto draw took place on Sunday 12th October at Flash’s bar for a jackpot of €20,000.
The numbers drawn were: 04, 07, 18 & 25.
There was no overall winner.
