LIMERICK WEST GIY: With the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food is back indoors for the winter months as we return to D & M Garden Centre, Croagh on Thursday 17th October where the subject for discussion will be on Wild Foods along with all the usual topics. The meeting will start at 7.00pm sharp and all are welcome from the beginner to the experienced old hand. As with all GIY meetings there is no charge to join in.

KNOCKAINEY LADIES CLUB: are pleased to announce for their next meeting on Monday October 21st renowned chef Carole Dollery from TV series “The Restaurant”, will do a cookery demonstration. This will surely be a night not to be missed.

FUNDRAISING DANCE, BULGADEN FOR OUR LADY’S HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN: There will be a 1960’s fund raising dance in Bulgaden Castle featuring Crystal Swing and Old News (support band) on Friday night October 25th. with all proceeds going to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital,Crumlin. This is a most worthy cause so let down your hair, roll back the years and swing the night as in the swinging sixties. Admission €10. Please support.

BORD NA NOG NOTES: As the season winds down for another year one very important event remains outstanding. The Andy Fitzgerald memorial tournament will take place this Sunday Oct 20 at 4pm in the Bruff GAA field. This year the tournament will be played at U10 level in a blitz format with 3 other clubs coming along to take part. Bruff Bord Na nOg are honoured to host this tournament in memory of Andy and hope you can come along to support the lads in what should prove to be a very entertaining hour or so of hurling.

BRUFF/ GRANGE/ MEANUS PARISH LOTTERY: At the Parish Lottery on Monday 14th October 2013, the numbers drawn were 20, 21 and 31 and there was no jackpot winner. The lucky dip winners were as follows: Dick O’Rourke c/o Hogan’s, Maureen & James c/o Howard’s, Dave Griffin c/o Hogan’s, Gearoid O’Leary c/o Post Office and Tommy Enright (Fedamore) c/o Breda.
