Meelick GAA: Míliuc CLG travelled to Bodyke for the first round of the Intermediate hurling league on Easter Monday. Míliuc CLG had a narrow win against Bodyke on the scoreline of 0-11 to 1-07. Well done to all involved.

Meelick U21 hurlers took on Scariff/Ogonnelloe in the championship semi-final in Tulla on Friday last.

There was a great result for the U21 hurlers as Míliuc CLG progressed to the county final. In what was a thrilling encounter Míliuc CLG edged out Scariff/Ogonnelloe on the scoreline of 2-09 to 1-10. Míliuc CLG will now play Whitegate in the county final. Date, venue and time to be confirmed.

The Blackwater Tragedy (1921) Commemmoration: Easter Sunday saw the unveiling of the new war of Independence monument in Parteen. The Meelick-Parteen & Cratloe Commemoration Committee unveiled a new monument marking the site where the O’ Donovan brothers were killed by the Black and Tans in 1921. Ceremonies began with a wreath laying ceremony at the Republican Plot in Meelick Churchyard at 1pm. The new monument was unveiled opposite McMahons pub at Blackwater, Parteen, Co. Clare. Local historian Tom Toomey gave the oration.

Parteen National School Fundraiser: Parteen National School will be holding a fundraiser Friday, 19th April. The fundraiser will take place in McMahons pub, Blackwater. There will be finger food and spot prizes on the night. Shantytown will provide the music on the night. Tickets 10 euro are available from Arlene Neville 086-3009462, Joann Mulcahy 087-7466806, Parteen school 061-340457. All proceeds will go to the school building fund.

Parteen St. Nicholas GAA: Parteen bowed out of the U21 Hurling championship when they were beaten on Friday by Whitegate 1-14 to 0-10.

Parteen got their Clare cup campaign off to a winning start with a hard fought 018 to 0-14 win away to Ogonnelloe on Monday last. The Junior B’s were unlucky on Sunday when they went down 4-08 to 4-07 away to O’Callaghan Mills.

Parteen Lotto: Lotto draw took place on Monday 1st April at Flash’s Bar. There was no overall winner. Numbers drawn were: 2, 8,11 &17.

Lucky dip winners were: Robert Sherlock c\ Parteen juvenile club. Tommy Hanly c\o Craughans Kileely; P.P. Murnane, Pallasgreen; Patrick Mulcahy, Fairyfield; Kieran Cunningham Lacklye, Ardnacrusha and Gina O’Dwyer Parkroe, Ardnacrusha.
