Milford Hospice Ceili: Cratloe set dancers are holding an end of season ceili in the Community Hall on this Monday night in aid of Milford Hospice with music by the popular Michael Sexton group.
Playing season commences: Cratloe senior hurlers returned to action on Monday and played quite well in defeating near neighbours Sixmilebridge by 1-15 to 2-11 in O’Garney Park while the juniors defeated Eire Og by 1-12 to 1-7 in Ennis on Saturday. The club pitch remains closed for the next few weeks and the team are training in Milford, Castletroy.
Dawn Mass: Despite the bitterly cold eastern wind a fine crowd attended the dawn mass in Cratloe Grotto on Sunday Morning. The recently restored grotto was the subject of much favourable comment and it looked resplendent in the morning sunshine. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Liam Enright.
Minor club fun quiz: The Cratloe minor club twenty fifth annual fun quiz was another outstanding success in Setright’s last week. In a very keenly contested competition Jack Chaplin, Denis Conroy, Siobhan Gleeson, Joe and Eileen McGrath were the adult winners. Leah Arthur, Arron Gaule, Robyn Hickey, Jamie Arthur and Shane Gleeson won the secondary school section while Sarah McMahon, Charlotte Gaule, Caelinn Danaher, Amy O Connor and Rebecca Van Der Dussen won the primary section. Jim Enright was quiz master and he will be joined by Flan O’Reilly and Mike Thorne in the Munster Scor final in Templemore on Saturday night.
All Ireland camogie medal: Karen Gallagher was a member of the Laurel Hill camogie team which won the All Ireland schools camogire title last week. Karen lives in Aisling Court and plays with Cratloe camogie team.
