PILGRIMAGE TO MEDJOGORIE: Akeaton/Ballysteen Parish are organising a pilgrimage to Medjugorgie for September 14 next. It is for seven nights inclusive flying form Shannon. Fare €689.

FIVER FRIDAY:The very successful fiver Friday will return on this Friday April 5, the first Friday of the month. Keep an out for the sign in participating windows and help support local businesses.

TIDY TOWNS: You may have notice some new bins recently installed around the town, generously donated by RUSAL Aughinish and refurbished by Community Employment personnel. They look really well. Sincere thank you to all concerned. Let’s hope the passers by use them.

BINGO: Bingo on MOnday night April 8 at 8.30pm in the Community Hall, Askeation. A pleasant night out and you could go home better off than you came. It is also a chance to meet old friends and why not enrourage you neighbours and friends to go along.

MUNSTER-MASTERS: Kingdom Swimming Club hosted this gala on Saturday March 23 in Tralee. Askeaton had one of their own ‘Masters’ representing the club which was another successful competition for Anthony Sheehy who competed in seven events on the day, resulting in seven gold medals and four personal best times.

ORAL IRISH: Would your child/children like to improve their oral Irish through games, chat and fun with children of their own age? Well now is you chance. Fun Irish language classes will continue in Cappagh on Tuesday April 9. This class will cater for third; to sixth class pupils and will be facilitated by Denise Lyons. This class will run on Tuesday evening 8 -845 or Wednesday evening 7 to 7.45. Cost is €50 for six weeks.

Bord Na Nog Notes: Under Age training. Under 8 and Under 10 hurling training will commence on Tuesday April 9 from 6.30 - to 7.30pm. Under 8 and Under 10 football training will commence on Wednesday Apirl 10 from 6.30 to 7.30. Under 12 and 14 training has already recommenced and training dates and times will be clarified by text to team members.

Under six football and hurling training day and time to be decided.

Registration: All children playing with the club have to be registered. Children can register on the night training returns.There will be a committee member available from 6pm. to 6.30pm and again from 7.30 to 8pm on Tuesday April 9. The same applies for Wednesday April 10.

Congratulations: Askeationg/Ballysteen Bord Na nOg and all his team mates would like to congratulate Paul O’Shughnessy on winning the All Ireland Under 13 sprint championship in Athlone last Saturday. A great achievement.
