HOSPITAL TENNIS CLUB: A very successful AGM was held Tuesday 26 March in the clubhouse. The following officers were elected: President Marian Reale, chairperson: Barbara Danagher, secretary: Tina Deegan, assistant secretary, Evelyn Wheelan, treasurer: Margaret Divilly, assistant treasurer: Madeline Donaghy, PRO Evelyn Whelan.

The weekly club night recommences Thursday 4 April at 7pm, all are welcome, it’s a great way to meet other club members and enjoy a few games of tennis, €2 to cover lights and refreshments.

Adult coaching for beginners and improvers will begin on 29 April for 5 consecutive Monday nights. Anyone interested contact Mary Paul on 087/6208183 or Evelyn on 087/9904019. Advanced tennis coaching for adults is also available, for anyone interested contact Barbara at 087/6701841.

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the Children’s Easter Tennis Camp which was a great success and enjoyed by all. Practice sessions and children’s tournaments will take place during the coming months. More details to follow. Membership for the year is now due and can be given to any committee member.

POKER: A Poker Classic will be held this Saturday 6 April starting at 9pm, tickets €20, all welcome.

TEA DANCE: The next tea dance will be held in Knockainey community centre on Sunday 14 April at 3pm. Music by Sam Doherty. Dancing from 3 – 6pm. Tea and refreshments will be served, raffle on the day, admission €5, all welcome.

LADIES CLUB: The next meeting will take place on Monday April 8 at 8pm sharp. Marie O’Neill will give a talk on Aloe Vera, all are welcome.

GAA: Round two of the ACFL was held in Rathkeale, after a keenly contested affair Hospital/Herbertstown lost out on a score of 0-12 to 0-7. Round 1 of the ACHL throws in this Sunday at 6pm when they take on Murroe/Boher in Hospital.

Hard luck to Kevin O’Donaghue and his Limerick team mates who were defeated by Cork in the U21 Munster semi-final. Many thanks to anyone who contributed to the clothes collection last week. Season tickets can still be purchased from Geraldine.

BORD NA NOG: This Thursday night is the last session of U6 and U8 indoor hurling from 6pm to 7pm in the school gym, all welcome. U6. U8 and U10’s start back in field on Thursday April 11 from 6pm to 7pm and any new players always welcome. The U16’s played their first match last week v Oola, a good performance but due to injuries and a few players missing, they lost out in the end, hopefully all players will be available the next day. U16 training continues every Friday from 5 – 6, U14’s are training every Tuesday from 6.30 to 7.30pm. U12 training held every Saturday 11am to 12 noon.

The Bord na nOg are having a Feile fund raising cake sale on Sunday April 22 in the clubhouse at 11.30am. If all U14 players parents can help out baking and help on the day, also anyone in the club who can help out with baking and on the day too would be appreciated
