GIRLS SOCCER: Congratulations to our Girls U10 Indoor Soccer Team on a great win over St. Kieran’s on Sunday last in the Galvone Centre. The team made up of Holycross players did themselves proud as they played out of their skins to beat a very good St. Kieran’s side. Claire in goal had little to do but controlled the area well. Ciara controlled the defence cutting out St. Kieran’s attacks and setting up our attacks. Tori Sue, Orla and Caoimhe made life difficult for St. Kieran’s defence. We were on top and Caoimhe got her first goal after 5 minutes quickly followed by her second. We made changes and Clodagh and Sorcha came on to continue our dominance. All played with sparkle and shot after shot rained down on St, Kieran’s goal. Just before half time Caoimhe got her 3rd goal with a great strike across the goalie. We led 3-0 at half time. Clodagh went into goal and Claire went up front. We kept swopping the players around and they all played well together and we got a fourth goal when Tori Sue got our fourth goal with a super strike. Well done girls and best of luck in the next round on Saturday. Team: Caoimhe Hartnett, Ciara Ryan, Orla Browne, Tori Sue McNamara, Claire Cronin, Clodagh Dennehy, Sorcha Hourigan and Emma Daly. Emma Daly was missing as he was sick. We hope she will be back for the next match. Get well doon from all the team. Well done to Paul Ryan who set up his team with great experience.
