Our Sporting Heroes: It is good to see our county teams in action for 2013 as they are involved in their respective tournaments in both hurling and gaelic football prior to the start of the National League Campaigns. Congratulations to the Limerick senior hurlers on a 3-15 to 0-13 over Mary Immaculate college in Kilmallock last weekend and they now look forward to a Waterford Crystal quarter final meeting against Tipperary next Sunday. The Limerick senior footballers have also been in McGrath cup action and following on from a fine quarter final extra time victory against Clare in Foynes recently, they faced the challenge of Kerry in the semi finals in Killarney and despite a brave display went down 3-16 to 1-11. The Red Army that is Munster Rugby completed their Heineken Cup Pool campaign in Thomond Park last Sunday with a fine performance and a deserving 29-6 victory over Racing Metro.
