ART EXHIBITION IN ADARE HERITAGE CENTRE: The Dovecote Restaurant in the Adare Heritage Centre is proud to be currently showing the vibrant paintings of Barry O’Riordan. Barry is a native of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, but has been living in Adare for the past 37 years. He has been the Principal of Adare Boys N. S. for 19 years. He studied Art for his Leaving Cert and in Mary Immaculate College under Walter Verling. Later in life he rediscovered his interest in painting through art classes in the Raheen Studio with Marie Loftus & Paul Quane and then went to Gallery 75 and painted with Denise Coppolla. He currently paints with Roger McCarthy. His prefered medium is Oil on Canvas. His interests are in local scenes and Adare has been a great inspiration with its many beautiful buildings. He enjoys playing golf and riding horses and also uses both in his paintings. Visit the Dovecote Restaurant between 9 am and 5.30 pm every day to see his lovely paintings.
DRAMA IN THE VILLAGE HALL: The Feohanagh/Castlemahon Players present the hilarious comedy ‘A Wake In The West’ in the Village Hall on Friday February 1 at 8pm sharp. Tickets are €10 and available from all hall committee members.
ADARE ACTIVE RETIREMENT: Bowling continues every Tuesday at 3pm at Embury Close Hall. There will be a Social Evening on the 24 January and on January 31 there will be a Speaker on Foot Massage and care of the Feet, both at 7.30pm at Embury Close Hall.

UPSKILLING IN BROADCASTING TRAINING: Those interested in becoming a volunteer broadcaster at West Limerick 102 Community Radio are now invited to take part in a dedicated 12 week training programme to develop the skills to produce and present high quality programming for the community station. Topics will include Role of Community Radio, Radio Presenting, Researching for Radio, The Role of the Producer, Technical Skills and News & Current Affairs. Course Free of Charge. FACILITATOR TRAINING: West Limerick Resources will be offering a part-time course for those interested in becoming a play and learning facilitator. The four month course will take place each Friday from 9.30am-12.30pm until the end of May in Newcastle West beginning February 1st. There will be an information session for interested participants this Friday January 19th at 11a.m. in the Newcastle West Community Centre. ADARE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: Adare Mother and Toddler Group is held in the upstairs room in the Heritage Centre. They meet at 10.15 until 12.15. They would like to issue a special invitation to all parents of children from 0-5 to come and join us on Friday mornings especially Dads, childminders and grandparents minding children in the afore mentioned age group. There are a wide variety of artisan, homemade goods for sale which including Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Home Baking, Handknits, Handmade Greeting Cards and Jewellery, Free Range Eggs, Homemade Jams (Seasonal), Handmade Crafts including an Alterations Service.
