County League: Mountcollins Senior footballers made the long journey to the east of the county of Friday night where they played Oola in round four of the county league. In a hard, physical encounter the home side just hung on for victory by a single point, Oola 2-8, Mountcollins 1-10.

Mountcollins played fast attacking football throughout, controlling mid field and defending well. However, they will be disappointed with their finishing from open play and free kicks as over all they were the better team on the night. We wish a speedy recovery to a number of players who picked up injuries in the game. Next weeks fixture is a home game against Hospital Herberstown.

Recent Death: Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Phil McCarthy late of Galway and Caherlane who passed away at Milford Hospice after a short illness during the past week. She was well known in the parish with many family members living locally. Her funeral took place in Abbeyfeale on Monday last after requiem mass. May she Rest in Peace.
