WEST LIMERICK INDOOR BOWLS: The West Limerick Indoor Bowls Club held their A.G.M. on Thursday, January 17. We meet every Thursday night in Halla Tadhg Gaelach in Tournafulla at 7.30pm. New members are very welcome. Visitors are welcome to come along and view the game and enjoy the craic.

TABLE QUIZ: Tournafulla Development Association will host a table quiz at the Goal Post Bar on this Friday night, January 25 beginning at 9.30pm. The members of the committee would appreciate your support.

CEILI: The next Ceili will take place in Halla Tadhg Gaelach on Friday, February 1. Music by the Striolán Ceili Band. Dancing 9.30 to 1. Teas and refreshments served.

SET DANCING CLASSES: The set dancing classes continue in the hall every Tuesday night at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

CARDS: The winners at last week’s cards with 10 games were: Teresa and Willie O’Brien; second with nine games were Donal Mulcahy and Pa Quilligan. The table prize winners were: John Hartnett and Johnny Ward; Mike and Pa Quilligan Junior; Kathleen Nash and Annie Leahy. Those lucky in the raffle were: 1. Margaret O’Regan. 2. Noel McCarthy. 3. Mary Brennan and 4. Donal Mulcahy.

TOURNAFULLA 5TH CHARITY RUN AND WALK: On Sunday, March 31, 2013 the inaugural Tournafulla 5km Road Race and non-competitive walk will be held in the village in aid of TLC47 (Cystic Fibrosis) and the Limerick Dialysis Unit at the Mid-West Regional Hospital.

This new event is designed to suit all levels of athletes, from serious road runners to non-competitive fun runners and walkers. All profits made from this event will be given to the very worthy cause mentioned above.

Due to the current economic difficulties it is understood that finances are stringently analysed within companies and businesses, it is with respect we request if you have any leverage in your finances for 2013, that you would consider sponsoring an organising cost or making a donation to this event.

GAA: Tournafulla G.A.A. Club is once again promoting the Club Development in 2013. You can join with any club promoter for €10 per month for 10 months. There are 28 cash prizes every month, with a first prize of €15,000. The first draw will take place on March 1.

WEDDING BELLS: Congratulations to Peter O’Connor, son of Jim and the late Joan of Killaculleen, who got married recently to Kathleen McGrath in London. Kathleen whose parents are from Wexford was the All-World step dancing champion on two occasions and as everyone knows Peter is an accomplished musician and singer. We wish the happy couple the very best of luck. Go n-éirí go geal leo.
