SISTERS OF MERCY: After 163 years in the parish the Sisters of Mercy are leaving Rathkeale. The Pastoral Council have arranged a special Mass and farewell function for Wednesday, April 10. It is proposed that a presentation will be made to the Sisters on the night of the function. All parishioners are welcome to attend. If you would like to be associated with the presentation any donation would be welcome and can be handed into any of the following: Fr. Cullinan, Fr. Russell, Noel White, Deel Bakery, Michael McNamara, Rockfield, John Dinnage, Mary Kenneally or at the Sacristy after Masses. Closing date for receiving donations Wednesday, April 3. Presentations to the Sisters in Rathkeale House Hotel, in appreciation for the 163 years of loyal and dedicated service they have provided to this parish. It is with great regret that three remaining Sisters will be leaving Rathkeale to take up residence in Limerick City. The Sisters will be missed by everyone for their pastoral work from all sections in this parish, through their educational field, their care of the sick and pastoral and spiritual guidance. The closure of the convent in mid April will be a huge loss to the town. We wish them many more years of health and blessings. April 10 2012 will be an opportunity for everyone to show their appreciation for the work the Sisters of Mercy have done.
