BEARS WALK: On Sunday 24 March a Ballyhoura Bears walk will leave from John the Baptist Community School car park at 11am. The walk will take about three hours – 8 miles approx. GAA: Well done to Aaron Murphy who lined out in goal for Limerick in the first 2 rounds of the NHL and keeping up a great tradition of goal keepers in the club was Diarmuid Quirke who was between the posts for the Limerick U15 team last weekend. Also best of luck to Kevin O’Donaghue with the Limerick 21 footballers as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Munster semi-final. Round 1 of the ACFL takes place this Saturday at 5pm v Pallasgreen at home.
BORD NA NOG: U6 and U8 indoor hurling on Thursday at 6pm to 6.55pm. The club would like to thank Ollie Coffey for a great indoor training session with the U8’s last week and Ollie is coaching the U6’s this Thursday, U12’s, U14’s and 16’s all back training for the year ahead. The U12 hurling panel have been chosen to go to Croke Park Tuesday April 2 to play three matches. Players and parents have been contacted. All those interested should give their names to Gerry Ryan asap.The club will be running a bus for this trip which should prove to be a great experience for all. A stadium tour is also part of the day.
Membership forms have been given to players who are back training and they can be returned to team coaches. The club have Hurley’s and helmets for sale at reduced rates and the club would encourage players to get their Hurley’s from club coaches so they can get the correct size hurley.
EQUESTRIAN TREKKING CENTRE: They are hosting their second charity ride/fun walk this year on March 31, Easter Sunday. Walkers starting point is at Caherconlish church at 1.30pm or Inch St Lawrence at 2pm. Riders meet at Boskill at 1pm. This year the parish in involved and walkers are invited to come along, with a beautiful landscape surrounding for riders and walkers to see.
This year it is in aid of Caherconlish/Caherline funds and Cappermore Day Centre/Vinmore House. Children or adults can be lead, if needed, by staff of Caherconlish Equestrian Centre. Cards are available for riders, riders meeting at Boskill at 1pm, walkers, adults, €5, children free, riders, adults €50 children €25.
