VARIETY GROUP: The Pallasgreen Variety Group take a Bow!. After a lapse of two years they entertained a capacity audience with music, song, comedy and dance for three successive nights last weekend. “ Here we are again” a production by the dynamic Maureen Fitzgerald captivated the audience with some memorable performances and songs that brought back many memories. It was a show full of colour and by a wonderful cast of young and the young at heart. There were many favourites from Grease to Camelot, from Royalty to Mrs Brown even James Bond made an appearance. And in keeping in tune with St Patrick’s weekend, a traditional Irish music, song and dance session in front of an open fire went down a treat. Well done to all involved from cast members to stage hands etc it was worth the wait and wishing many more entertaining nights in the years ahead. The show was dedicated to the memory of all past members of the Variety Group.

SYMPATHY: Sympathies are extended to Hannah McMahon and family of Linfield and also to the family of the late Mary McMahon of Canon Lee Park on the recent passing passing of their brother Danny Long of Caherconlish. Funeral was from Cross’s funeral home Ballyneety to Caherline Church. Following requiem mass internment took place in Cahercorney Cemetery. Sympathies to his relatives and friends. The death also took place of Joe Ryan of England and former of Ballyhurst. The late Joe is a brother of Catherine Murnane of Lough.

CHURCH NEWS: Easter Clergy Collection: This will be taken up this weekend as well as Easter weekend and the weekend after Easter. Our target is 29,000 and we only have four such collections, we ask you to be generous as you can please.

Adoration in Templebraden Church; The Adoration will take place this Sunday from 1.30 to 3pm.

Cleaning of Nicker Church; This will take place on Monday March 25th at 7.15pm. we need new volunteers to help with the cleaning which takes place five or six times a year.

LOCAL ATHLETES: The Joey Hannon Memorial 10k was held in Croom on St Patrick’s Day with 175 competitors. There was a sizeable contingent from Pallasgreen. The winner was Michael Shannon of Ennis in 32.18. Declan O’ Connor was 10th in 37.47 followed by the ever improving Seamus Hayes in 39.17 in 19th position. Oliver Ryan was 56th in 45.31 with Larry O’ Grady back after a long lay off in 79th in a time of 47.54. P.J. Quirke was 103th in 51.12 likewise just back after a two month lay off with Ann Hayes 121st in 54.52 and Donna Frost 123thh in 55.87 with Richard Hayes 130th in 57.10. Performance of the week undoubtably went to Richard Hayes who competed his first ever competitive run and will no doubt eat up the ground for the Knockane Friends of Limerick ‘73 5K run on 26th April.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: Pallasgreen/Templebraden Friends of Lourdes will hold their annual Church gate collection on weekend 23rd-24th March at all Masses.

NICKER N.S. PARENTS ASSOC: This is to raise funds for the school extension. CAHERCONLISH CHARITY RIDE/FUN WALK: We are hosting our second charity ride/fun walk this year on the 31st of March Easter Sunday.Walkers starting point is at Caherconlish church @ 1.30pm or Inch St.Laurence @ 2.00pm, Riders meet at Boskill @ 1.00pm.This year the parish is involved and walkers are invited to come along,beautiful landscape surrounding for riders and walkers to see.Beginners , novice and professionals are all welcome to come.This year it is in aid of Caherconlish/Caherline Funds & Cappamore day care centre / Vinmore House.Children or Adults can be lead if needed by staff of Caherconlish Equestrian Centre.I would highly appreciate if you and your parish could advertise this brilliant day out in ye’re weekly notes or in ye’re local church.Sponser Cards are available for riders. Sarsfield Ladies Gaelic Football Club: will hold a table quiz on Saturday 23rd March in Aherns Bar, Kilteely at 9pm. €20 per team of 4. There will also be a raffle on the night. FRIENDS OF LIMERICK 73 -CAKE SALE: On the 30th March 2013 there will be a Cake Sale in the Pastoral Centre, Doon ( The Old Library) starting at 5.30pm until 8.00pm Saturday evening and selling will recommence at 8.30am Easter Sunday morning until 12.30pm. All proceeds raised will be divided equally between Milford Care Centre, MS Limerick and Lisnagry Association. ROSE OF TRALEE: Anna Jane Ryan of Moymore was a recent contestant hoping to represent Limerick in this year’s Rose of Tralee contest. At a gala evening in the Castletroy Park Hotel twenty one roses took to the stage and hopeful to be a Limerick Rose on the stage in Tralee for the first time in five years. Anna Jane a talented musician and singer unfortunately didn’t receive the traditional sash but had felt like a winner from the wonderful experience she enjoyed. They had a garda escort throughout the city and a busker played the Rose of Tralee while making their way through the Milk Market. Many more occasions had them feeling like royalty and something to remember for many years.

ST PATRICKS’S PLAYERS CLOVERFIELD: After a most successful opening night with MOLL, St Patrick’s players will be on stage again on Friday next in The Teach and in Pallasgreen on Sunday next commencing at 8.30pm. The Teach was packed to capacity on St. Patrick’s night and the play proved to be a very successful production. The play will then move to Friarsgate on Friday and Saturday 5th and 6th of April commencing at 8p.m.

MURROE-BOHER CAMOGIE: Murroe/Boher Camogie Club are collecting bags of used clothing as a Feile na ngael fundraiser. We accept Men’s, Women’s, Children’s Clothing, paired shoes, belts, handbags, bed linen and paired curtains. Our collection dates are Saturday 23rd March, Saturday 6th April and Saturday 20th April in the GAA Clubhouse, Murroe from 7pm to 7.45pm and The Community Hall in Boher from 8pm to 8.45pm. Juvenile Club news: Club training this Sunday for U6 to U14 teams. Training will continue on Sunday 24th March. The U-14 football team had a fine win in Féile Peil na nÓg. away to Ballybrown in Clarina last Monday.

Table Quiz: The Clubs Minor Team is organising a table quiz for the club on Friday 22nd March in O’Dwyers Bar. Table of 4 costs €20. East Minor Football medals will be presented to the team on the night.

COUNTY SCOR FINAL: This Friday Night March 22nd the County Senior Scor Final will take place in Askeaton at 8.30pm. Pallasgreen will be represented in four categories; Solo Song, Recitation, Ballad Group and Quiz and we wish them every success. All support would be greatly apprecitated.
