THIRTY new jobs have been announced after electrical engineering contractor Kirby Group announced an investment at its Raheen premises.
The announcement was made following a visit by Finance Minister Michael Noonan to its premises.
The group is to start filling the 30 new jobs immediately, with the vacancies in a variety of professional engineering and construction roles.
These include project management, site management and quantity surveying.
Celebrating its 50th year, Kirby Group has already hired 30 new employees since the beginning of 2014.
Finance Minister Michael Noonan said: “Job creation is a priority for this Government and that is why I warmly welcome today’s announcement by Kirby Group that they are to create 30 new full-time positions. The company is to be congratulated both for its impressive business growth and its proven capacity to create employment.”
Kirby was founded in Limerick by Michael and Tom Kirby back in 1964.
Mr Noonan added: “This investment will serve the company well as it works to deliver key projects in the mid-west region.”

We are continuing to secure significant new business wins both in Ireland and the UK. On the back of this, we will are continuing our recruitment drive for experienced engineering talent. This will see us hire 30 additional staff for a variety of engineering positions over the coming months. We are proud to be playing our part in answering Ireland’s job creation needs.”
Founded in 1964, Kirby Group is an Irish-owned international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor and one of the major players in the Irish construction industry today.
It has gone from 10 employees in 1987 to over 600 today, with substantial operations in Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Britain and Europe, with a further 250 people employed by key subcontract partners.
