THOMOND Park Stadium is set to help out the local area with a new fund which will support social, education and community projects.

THOMOND Park Stadium is set to help out the local area with a new fund which will support social, education and community projects.

The new fund will be distributed under the ‘Thomond Park Stadium Community Programme’ which works with local community groups and organisations.

Star Munster winger Keith Earls says the new fund will help deliver key projects which are important to the community.

“The development of the fund as an extension of the community programme will make a real difference for local community projects and build further on the stadium’s place in our community.

“It will also allow local groups to work even closer with Thomond Park to identify longer term projects that can be delivered through the fund which will benefit a broad mix of groups from young and old,” he said.

By working with local schools, sports clubs, community groups and local voluntary organisations the fund will support new programmes and help to purchase new equipment.

Thomond Park already supports the local community; over €600,000 has been paid to local people working as event staff employed for matches and concerts.

The Community Sponsorship Fund is open to local community groups and organisations.
