CLare’s Wish Foundation are hosting what they are calling “Limerick’s first ever charity wedding fair” on Sunday, November 24 in the Clarion.
They are the only Irish charity to grant a wish to children and adults with life-threatening conditions and disabilities. Clare’s Wish Foundation is the brainchild of Kevin Clancy from Doon. It his named after his last sister who passed away several years ago aged just 24.
Clare was a big fan of Red Hurley and at one of his concerts the singer spent a lot of time with her and sang to her. Clare’s wish came true that day and she never forgot it. Neither did Kevin who wants to make more wishes come true. Their next event is the charity wedding fair on November 24 from noon to 5pm.
“The Clarion came on board at the start and donated their wedding pegasus room for the event. We also have two major sponsors - Brides of Limerick Magazine and Limerick Greyhound Stadium. We have over 30 wedding suppliers who were all very quick to come on board and support a new local charity.
“All contributed €100 to Clare’s Wish Foundation. We will have a raffle on the day with items from each of the 30 stands. There is no admittance fee for the fair, but donations on entry will be accepted,” said Kevin.
