ONE of the more exciting aspects of my job is helping people with their style, image and wardrobe. This week, I had the pleasure of being involved in a make-over for 51-year-old Bridget Corbett Sheedy from Kilmallock. Bridget’s daughter Aisling entered her in the Ireland Am competition because she felt her mum was in a bit of a rut style-wise and wanted to see her make the very best of herself.
Bridget, who is an administrator in Friars Gate Theatre in Kilmallock, admitted that she is always wearing black and grey in more recent years. In truth, she was suffering from a lack of confidence so I was delighted to be able to help her achieve her new look. We picked out a number of outfits for various occasions including a gorgeous jump suit which showed off her lovely figure so well. Bridget was a pleasure to work with and to see the big smile on her face at the end of the make-over made by day!
ALL the top fashion press were out in force for the Brown Thomas spring/summer fashion show in Dublin. The event was held in the new handbag department which opened recently. The beautiful surroundings were a stunning backdrop for the fabulous designs from new labels such as Oscar de la Renta and Roksanda Illincic. I adored the Dolce & Gabanna and Mary Katranzou collections. Fashion director Shelly Corkery looked fantastic in a Victoria Beckham number. It was a great opportunity to view some of the biggest fashion labels in the world!
