WE were so delighted here at the Holman Lee Agency to finally launch the Limerick Style Festival incorporating the Limerick International Fashion Student Awards. The festival will commence on the evening of Wednesday, October 22 with Sparkle & Shine a glamorous fashion show in Marco Polo restaurant on O’Connell Street in the city.

The centrepiece of the Limerick Style Festival is the Limerick International Fashion Student Awards which is part of Limerick City of Culture 2014. This takes place on Thursday, October 23 in the city’s historic medieval St Mary’s Cathedral with a spectacular fashion show and awards ceremony showcasing the designs of the competing international student designers.

On Friday, October 23, there will be an all-day fashion trail with various fashion retailers having pop-up fashion shows along with special offers and discounts on the day.

The festival is also supported by the Limerick Marketing Company. Watch this space for an update each week on this incredible fashion event in Limerick city.

LAST Friday I was off to the beautiful surroundings of Dromoland Castle for the Brown Thomas autumn winter 2014 collections. The fashion show itself was absolutely spectacular with labels such as Peter Pilotto, MaxMara, Paula Ka, Marc by Marc Jacob, and Victoria, Victoria Beckham among many others.

The boots by Gucci and the bags by Michael Kors were among my favourites. Limerick’s fashionistas were out in force and all looking so stylish. The champagne flowed as general manager of Brown Thomas Liam Dwan welcomed everyone to this wonderful
event.

What an amazing day it was ! Well done Brown Thomas!
