THE LATE MOSSIE MURPHY: The death occurred on January 31 of Maurice (Mossie) Murphy at Cork University Hospital. The late Mossie a native of Mitchelstown lived with his family at Castlegrove Mallow for many years. He was well known in both Mitchesltown and Mallow being a GAA follower. He was very popular which was evident by the large and represented attendance at the rosary in the family on home on Saturday night. There was was also a very large attendance at the removal on Sunday evening from O’Connell’s Funeral Home St. James Ave to St. Mary’s Church Mallow and also at the Requiem, mass and burial on Monday. Interment took place to St Gobnait’s Cemetery. To his wife Eileen (Nee Harrington (Mitchelstown) sons Donal, Adrian, Barry, Shane, Maurice, daughters Ann, Sharon sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers in law sisters in law relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE DAVY RUSSELL: The death occurred on February lst at Cork University Hospital of Davy Russell 11 Liam Lynch P)ark Mitchelstown and formerly of Ballyduff Ballylanders. The late Davy was well kn own locally. His popularity was borne out in teh large and represented attendance at the removal on Monday night from O’Brien’s Funeral Home Mitchesltown to the local Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Tuesday. Interment took place to Ballylanders Cemetery. To his sons, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

MITCHELSTOWN CBS FOOTBALLERS BEATEN: Mitchelstown CBS Under 16 footballers lost out to Killarney Community College at Mallow on Wednesday last. The final score was 5- 12 to 3- 8.

Over the hour the Killarney side held the lead and were worthy winners.
