KILPEACON GAA CELEBRATION NIGHT: In 2013, the amalgamation at Minor grade of Crecora-Manister with Fedamore under the team name Kilpeacon proved to be an amazing success in both Hurling and Football.

KILPEACON GAA CELEBRATION NIGHT: In 2013, the amalgamation at Minor grade of Crecora-Manister with Fedamore under the team name Kilpeacon proved to be an amazing success in both Hurling and Football.

The Hurling City final win, together with the double of City & County Football titles, brings the Kilpeacon Minor’s silverware to 3 cups for the season, which is an unprecedented result in the first season of an amalgamation.

A night out has been arranged to celebrate this success and to recognize the great time and effort from the players and coaches from both clubs.

Date: Saturday 8th February from 9.00pm. Venue: South Court Hotel, Raheen.

Admission Free, including music & finger food. A donation box will be at the entrance door should you wish to give something to cover the costs of the night.

Please come along as this will be a great opportunity to meet the players and members from our GAA Clubs and our communities.

CRECORA NATIONAL SCHOOL: Enrolments for September 2014 places are currently being taken. Please contact the school for an application form. An information afternoon will be held at the school on 12th February between 1.30 and 3 p.m. Any interested parents are very welcome. CRAOBH NAOMH MHICHIL C.C.E: The music classes are now entering our second term. We will accept intermediate and advanced players of any instrument to our classes on Friday 7th February. We will take beginners again in September. Further details on 0871677379.

COMMUNITIES ON LINE: West Limerick Resources will run a final ‘Communities on Line’ course in Newcastle West each Wednesday from February 19 to April 2 (7.30-10pm). The course will show community groups how to develop their own free website and set up a Facebook page. This is a hands-on course. On completion groups will have a fully operational website. All participants must have a sound basic knowledge of computers and be comfortable in the use of the internet, email and simple applications such as Word. Limit 2 people per group. DRAMA WORKSHOPS: West Limerick Resources will be offering a series of drama workshops across the West Limerick area this spring. The short courses will include acting, directing for stage and technical skills. Courses are free of charge and open to anyone living in the West Limerick area. VALENTINES BALL: at Woodlands House Hotel on Friday 21st of February 2014. Music in hotel foyer, four-course meal with complimentary wine, live music by music to Limerick band FINAL TOUCH all topped off with a Disco by DJB. Raffle of admission tickets for weekend hotel break and numerous other prizes. Tickets are priced at only 50euros. All proceeds on the night to go to Milford Hospice and Pieta House.

KENRY HISTORICAL SOCIETY: The first event of this year will take place on Wednesday February 19 at 8.00 pm. The talk is on Curragh Chase and the appropriate venue will be the Community Centre, Kilcornan. Our guest speaker is the author of the very popular booklet on Curragh Chase, namely Patrick T Fitzgerald of Adare. Patrick has been visiting the place since his childhood and has built up a store of knowledge on this subject so dear to his heart. His talk will include much new material which has not been public up to now. Members and non-members are invited and welcome.
