PREPARATION: The 6pm Mass on the first Saturday March, April and May will be for the children who will be receiving their First Holy Communion on May 17 at 10.30am. The Do this in Memory Programme in preparation for the sacrament will be celebrated at these Masses. The first confession will be on March24 at 7.30pm.

IRISH MASS: Conradh na Gaeilge have issued an invitation to a Commemorative Mass in Irish which will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, Denmark Street, Limerick on Sunday February, 2 at 10am in memory of the musicians from An Cístín and former members of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Eireann and Conradh na Gaeilge who have gone to their rest. The Mass will be followed by a reception with light refreshments and music in Halla Íde, 18 Thomas Street.

POPE FRANCIS: There will be a talk/discussion given by Fr. Michael Paul Gallagher SJ on Wednesday February 5 at Corpus Christi Church Moyross at 7.30pm on Pope Francis - what makes him tick? Why such an impact?”

CLOTHES COLLECTION: Cappagh Community Council is holding a clothes collection on Friday February 7 between 7pm-8pm and Saturday February 8 from 10am to 11.30am to raise funds for the maintenance of the Hall. We are hoping to raise enough money to paint the Hall inside and out, making it brand new for 2014. Please bring your unwanted clothes to the Hall in black bags either on Friday night between 7pm and 8pm or alternatively Saturday morning from 10am to 11.30am. INTER-RELIGIOUS DIALOGUE: The Dominican Biblical Institute, Upper Cecil Street, Limerick will offer a Course on Inter-Religious Dialogue for six Tuesday evenings before Lent and for three Tuesdays after Easter. It will begin with a short overview of inter-religious dialogue in the Church to date. This will set the context for how we approach Judaism and Islam – to appreciate them as faiths in the One God and in their likeness and differences in relation to Christian faith. Dates: Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25, Apr. 29, May 6 and 13. Time: 7.30-9.00. Cost €5 per session. Course Director: Sr. Jo O’Donovan RSM. Her recent book, Understanding Differently, considers Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, and Christianity’s relationship and dialogue with them.

ALZHEIMER SOCIETY: The Limerick Branch of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland will hold their Monthly Carers’ Meeting at their Day Care Centre, Kilmurry Court, Garryowen, Limerick on Wed. 5 February, from 3pm to 4pm. Tel: 061-313456. All are welcome.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland hold a Social Club for people with dementia and their carer, in a supported environment, which takes place each Tuesday morning in the Woodfield House Hotel, between 11am. and 1pm. VALENTINE’S BALL: Valentines Ball at Woodlands House Hotel on Friday of February 21. Music in hotel foyer. Four course meal with complimentary wine. Followed by music to Limerick band FINAL TOUCH. SUPERVISED STUDY: West Limerick Supervised study has now opened in Church Street Rathkeale, we offer Supervised Study from Monday to Friday from 6.30pm - 8.30pm at €2.50 per session.
