VALENTINES BALL: A Valentines Ball will be held at Woodlands House Hotel on Friday, February 21in aid of Milford Hospice and Pieta House. Tickets at €50 will include music in hotel foyer, a four course meal with complimentary wine followed by music to Limerick band FINAL TOUCH and a disco by DJB. Raffle on tickets for weekend hotel break and numerous other prizes.

SCOIL NAOMH IOSAF ENROLMENT: Scoil Naomh Iosaf, Adare Boys National School will hold an enrolment week at the school from Monday 10th to Friday 14th February from 2.15 to 3pm each day. Parents who are interested in enrolling their son in September 2014 are welcome.

PUB QUIZ: Scoil Naomh Iosaf School Parents Council will hold a Fun Pub Quiz in Pat Collins Bar on Friday February 7 at 8.30pm. Teams will consist of four people and entry fee is €40 per team. Over 18’s only.

ADARE VILLAGE HALL ACTIVITIES: Pilates With Weights starting Monday 20 January at 10am, 5 week class €60. Clients must ring to confirm place. ADARE ACTIVE RETIREMENT: Adare Active Retirement will hold Bowling every Tuesday from 3pm to 5pm at Embury Close Hall, Rev Dr Heather Morris President of the Methodist Association of Ireland 13 February, Bingo 20 February and the AGM will be held on the 6 March. All events will take place at Embury Close Hall at 7.30pm .

ADARE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: Adare Mother and Toddler Group is held in the upstairs room in the Heritage Centre. They meet at 10.15 until 12.15. They would like to issue a special invitation to all parents of children from 0-5 to come and join us on Friday mornings.

COMMUNITIES ON LINE: West Limerick Resources will run a final Communities on Line course in Newcastle West each Wednesday from February 19 to April 2 (7.30-10pm). The course will show community groups how to develop their own free website and set up a Facebook page. This is a hands-on course. On completion groups will have a fully operational website. All participants must have a sound basic knowledge of computers and be comfortable in the use of the internet, email and simple applications such as Word. Limit 2 people per group. DRAMA WORKSHOPS: West Limerick Resources will be offering a series of drama workshops across the West Limerick area this spring. The short courses will include acting, directing for stage and technical skills. Courses are free of charge and open to anyone living in the West Limerick area. PARISH RADIOS: For those parishioners who are unable to come to mass and would like to listen to mass from the parish church in their homes, we now have a new stock of Radios here in the Parish Office. Many people findthe Parish Radio helpful in praying the Rosary and the Mass at the start of the day. If you are interested or know somebody who might find it helpful, please contact Rita on 396172.

ADARE COMMUNITY OFFICE: The Adare Community Office is now up and running and currently updating its data base of clubs and services in the village. Opening hours at present are 10am to 4pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. LIMERICK COUNTY A.A. MEETINGS: There is a closed meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A) in the C.B.S National School,Rathkeale Rd, Adare every Sunday night at 8:30 for anyone who might think they have a problem with alcohol or who need help to stop drinking. PARISH WEBSITE: www.adareparish.ie has news of the parish, schools, marriage information, etc. It is a very comprehensive website with a lot of local parish information. There will also be a virtual tour of the church upon completion of the restoration project.

ADARE MARKET: Adare County Market is held every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in front of the Village Hall. There are a wide variety of artisan, homemade goods for sale which including Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Home Baking, Handknits, Handmade Greeting Cards and Jewellery, Free Range Eggs, Homemade Jams (Seasonal), Handmade Crafts including an Alterations Service. We look forward to seeing you there. If you are interested in having a stall at the market please contact Hugh Doherty at the fresh Fruit and Vegetable stall where he will give you an application form.

Adare Ladies Gaelic Football Club: The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday February 13 at 8pm in the Woodlands House Hotel. The Club is asking one parent from each family to attend if possible to discuss the season ahead. The Club will also be looking for volunteers for the Club’s Board and Coaching Roles.

2014 Season: The Ladies Gaelic Football Season for 2014 will be starting soon and Adare is actively looking for players of all ages from Under 8 to Under 16 to join its ranks.
