The new classrooms are nearing completion and should be ready after Easter and will replace the old prefab buildings.

Meelick GAA: Intermediate Team Manager Declan Sherlock has announced that Johnny Quinn and Ray Ryan have joined him as selectors and that Joe Sherlock and Tommy Moloney will be selectors on the under 21 team.

Despite injuries over twenty adults turned up for training on Sunday morning and were later served breakfast by Tony Moloney and Anthony Keane.

Juveniles: On Thursday thirty six juveniles under 10 had training sessions at Saint Nessans Hall in Limerick where they were put through their paces by Pat Brennan, Dara Knox, Mike Sherlock, Mikey Kelly and Gerry Markham. The sessions will continue every Thursday night for the coming months.

Reunion: There was a huge crowd at a Ladies Football Function on Saturday night. It was a combination of a reunion of the Footballers of 1988 and a presentation to the East Clare Gales of 2013.

The Chairman of the Clare Ladies Football Bord Mr Johnny Hayes paid tribute to all for their outstanding contribution to the sport for the past twenty five years. He had special praise for Robin O’Connell, Brendan Healy, Breda Ahern and Mick Keogh.

The man who started the game in Meelick Robin O’Connell said “ we had a great night and all of the 88 team turned up except one and we had a great chat about old times”.

A very enjoyable social and sing song followed and presentations were made to the victorious 2013 team and the 88 players and officers were also presented with a momento of the occasion.

Parteen GAA: The U21 B hurling championship with Parteen v Whitegate will take place on the first weekend in March.

Lotto: Parteen Lotto draw took place at Larkins bar on Sunday 2 Feb for a jackpot of €20,000. No’s drawn were: 07, 15, 20 & 28. There was no overall winner. Lucky dip winners were: Bobby O’Connell, Ballycar, Co.
