Scoil Dean Cussen: Scoil Dean Cussen is now taking enrolments for the coming school year. Enrolment Forms are available to download from the school website www.scoildeancussen.ie. They may also be collected from the school office. Please return completed enrolment forms by March 28. We look forward to welcoming your child to the school.

A.G.M. Meanus Defibulator Group: are holding their Annual General Meeting in Meanus Community Centre on Monday night February 17 commencing at 7.30 p.m.

Meeting: St Ailbes Maigue District Forum are holding their next meeting at Meanus Community Centre on Wednesday, 12th February commencing at 7.00pm to approximately 8.30 p.m. Guest speaker on the night is Kay Kennedy, Ballyhoura Rural Services. All individuals and local Groups who may be interested are welcome to attend.

Birthday: Congratulations to Tadhg O Mahoney, Meanus who celebrated his 80th birthday with a party at Hogan’s Bar, Meanus on last Tuesday night. Music for the event was supplied by Pakie Moloney and a great evening was had by Tadhg and all his friends who turned up for the celebrations. A variety of food and a birthday cake was supplied by proprietor, Mary Cronin.

Computer Classes for beginners: will be commencing in Meanus Community Centre shortly. Anybody interested in doing this course should contact Mary Cronin at 086 8503316 immediately.

Aerobics: are held in Meanus Community Centre each Monday night commencing at 8p.m. All welcome to attend.

Set Dancing: continues in the Community Centre each Wednesday night commencing at 8.30 p.m. All welcome.

GAA Notes: On Saturday the 1st of February Camogue Rovers GAA Club held a medal presentation night at The Hogan Stand Bar in Meanus. There was a large crowd of both players and supporters in attendance. Two sets of medals were presented to the Junior B Football team, the South Junior B Championship and South Junior B Football League. The Ballingarry Junior B Hurling Tournament medals were presented to the hurling team. The three cups were on display on the night. Paddy Cusack, Chairman of Camogue Rovers welcomed everybody and congratulated both teams on their great year. Pat Murnane, former Chairman of the South Board presented the medals. Pat congratulated the teams on their great year and wished them all the best of luck for 2014. Medals were also presented to the manager and selectors of the hurling team, Eddie Corkery, Tom Bulfin and Larry Farrell. Roger Cusack, captain of the hurling team made a presentation to Eddie Corkery on behalf of the hurling team to thank him for his great dedication and commitment to the team and the club over the last number of years. A very enjoyable night was had by all.

BRUFF BORD NA NÓG: Registration for this year will take place on Friday February 7 at the clubhouse between 7 and 8pm. In order to have your child insured by GAA Headquarters in Croke Park we must have all registration forms back by the end of March. So we would ask you to please make the effort, for health and safety reasons and register your child promptly. Registration fees this year are €20 for one child, two children €30 and three or more €40. If you can’t make it on the night forms will also be distributed at all training sessions after that date or are available from any of the committee. We hope to resume training sessions for all age groups by the middle to end of February (weather permitting).
