GRANDPARENTS DAY: To mark Grandparents day in the parish large numbers attended Mass in St Mary’s Church on Tuesday last their grandchildren from Knocknagoshel and Loughfouder schools also attended the 11.30 am mass which was celebrated by Cannon Owen Mangan P.P. Afterwards the two groups headed to their respective schools for refreshments and chat which everyone enjoyed .
HUNTING FESTIVAL: Its hard to imagine but the time has once again come around for the annual. Hunting Festival hosted by Abbeyfeale Harriers . The Festival commences on Sunday next February 9th from Shanahan’s Bar, Strand , County Limerick. Joint meet of, Minerock Harriers and Dungannon Foxhounds.
On Monday February 10th from Lyons Bar, Scartaglin Co Kerry. Macroom Foxhounds. This is a Memorial Meet honouring the late great huntsman John O’Connor, Scartaglin.
On Tuesday February 11th, from Hickey’s Bar, Knocknagoshel, Co Kerry, with a joint meet of, South Tipperary Harriers and Rockfield Harriers.
On Wednesday February 12th from The Ploughman’s Bar , Abbeyfeale , Co Limerick. This meet with Carraigshane Harriers is a Memorial Meet for the late Jackie O’Grady .
On Thursday February 13th from Ulick’s Bar, Farranfore , Co Kerry, with Scarteen Foxhounds.
On Friday February 14th from Faha Court, Faha, Co Kerry, Togher Harriers.
All Meets at 11 am.

LATE DARBY BROWNE: Locals were saddened at the unexpected death last week of Jermiagh Darby Browne, Abbeyfeale , and formerly of Knockadarrive, Brosna. His remains were removed from Harnett’s Funeral Home Abbeyfeale to Brosna Parish Church and burial was in Knockane Cemetery , Knocknagoshel. A talented musician Darby as he was known played with many combinations at home and overseas . Sincere sympathy is extended to all his relatives and friends.
KERRY V DUBLIN: All those locals who attended the Kerry v Dublin national league game at Croke Park on Saturday night last reckon we are going to have a long year following the Green and Gold right up to the end of September. Knocknagoshel’s James Walsh was a sub on this young Kerry outfit.
BIDDY: Only a few rare batches were to be seen out on the Biddy last weekend. This was in sharp contrast to years gone by when several groups traversed the countryside.
