RECENT DEATHS: The death of Sr. May McCarron of the Sisters of Mercy has occurred in the Galway Clinic on Friday following a short illness.
A native of Letterkenny, County Donegal, Sr. May was a member of the Shannon Community of the Sisters of Mercy from 1979 until 1988. Her ministry whilst in Shannon was as Catechetical adviser to primary schools in the Killaloe Diocese.
After her ministry in Shannon Sr. May was involved in formation work with the Sisters of Mercy and from 1995 until April of this year worked as a missionary with the Sisters of Mercy mission to Kenya. Deepest sympathy to her family, the Sisters of Mercy and especially the Sisters in the Shannon community who mourn her death.
May she rest in peace. Funeral Mass was on Sunday in Ennis followed by burial in Drumcliffe Cemetery.

To Marion Halpin, Tullyvarraga Crescent on the death of her brother Stephen Shanahan, who died in Dublin. The death has occurred of Kim Clinton, Kilkenny, daughter of Michael & Breda Clinton, formerly of Purcell Park. May they rest in peace.
MINCON: Best wishes to Mincon who has begun trading on the ESM market of the Irish Stock Exchange on Tuesday of this week. Mincon were in the news when a drill bit made by the company was used to break through to the cavity where 33 Chilean miners were trapped for nearly three months in 2010.

TROCAIRE EMERGENCY APPEAL: The community was thanked at the weekend for their great generosity to the Emergency Appeal last weekend for the people of The Philippines and Syria in their hour of need. As we go to print, €14,800 has been contributed and this money has been passed on to Trocaire. The parish will accept contributions to the Appeal this week as well as it gives an opportunity to parishioners who still want to contribute. Donations can be left at any of our churches or at the Parish Office.
CONFIRMATION: A Confirmation Enrolment Mass for the children from St. Aidan’s School preparing for Confirmation will be enrolled at the 10am Mass on Sunday morning in Ss John & Paul church.
WOLFE TONES AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Wolfe Tones na Sionna will take place on Monday December 2 at 7.30 in the Old Bar.
FIRST ANNIVERSARY: The First Anniversary mass for Eddie Galvin, Rossbracken will be on Saturday at 6.30pm in Ss John & Paul church.
SANTA: Santa will be arriving in Shannon on Saturday at noon. Visits to see Santa will be available free in SkyCourt this year. Children will be able to visit and get a photo taken in the run up to Christmas. A full listing of grotto opening times and dates will be available on the website.

TEXT ALERT: Clare County Council has launched of a new system of alerting members of the public about road closures, severe weather warnings and other service changes throughout Clare.
People are being invited to sign up for free SMS and email service alerts from the local authority by registering on this website. Users of the new system are able to select alerts of relevance to their area of the county and to opt in to receive additional notifications regarding community announcements and events.
This is a free service that is being provided by Clare County Council. There are no registration costs and there are no charges associated with receiving SMS .

CHRISTMAS CAROLS: Choirs from the parishes of Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus and Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry along with a number os School Choirs will come together in Mary Immaculate Church on Wednesday December 11 at 7.30pm for a Christmas Carol Service, based on Songs of Praise in which Choirs will form the congregation and everyone will sing Christmas carols together.
