She is the first girl from the club to get this honour and we wish her the very best. Congratulations to her coaches for all their hard work also. Also well done to Eoghan Burke, Devon Ryan & David Hickey and their coaches on the boys’ selection for the Limerick County Under-13 Boys Emerging Talent Squad for 2013/2014.

The soccer draw is back and there is a super prize fund with a 1st prize of €1000 euro, 5 X €100, Turkey and Ham, Pónaire Hamper, Christmas Hamper, Drinks Hamper, 10 prizes of €50 each plus many more. Tickets are €5 each, the same as last year, with a book of 12 tickets costing €50. Your support as always is much appreciated for this, our main fundraiser of the year. MURROE MARIAN CLUB 45 DRIVE: Murroe Marian Club will hold a Monster 45 Drive in the Muintir na Tire Hall Murroe on Tuesday, December 3, at 8 pm sharp. There will be spot prizes galore and refreshments served. Admission will be €6-00.

BOHER DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION: Boher Parish Calendar 2014 is on sale from all local businesses or any committee member. On the cover is a unique photo of the four Munster medal recipients from our local GAA club.

It contains beautiful shots of local events held throughout the year. The cost is €5. Boher Christmas Market takes place on Sunday, December 8, at 2 pm. They are calling all crafts people, artists, bakers, (young and not so young), and culinary experts to book a stall at Boher Community Centre and show off/sell some of your creative delights.

If you would like to book a stall please contact Paudie Laffan 086 0785836. There will be a small charge of €5 per stall. Santa Clause will also visit the Community Centre. MURROE/BOHER CAMOGIE: Murroe/Boher Camogie club are holding the last collection of clothes etc before Christmas on this coming Saturday night at Murroe club-house from 7 pm to 7-45 pm.

MURROE/BOHER GAA: The minor hurlers were on the road again last Sunday at Claughaun GAA grounds in the replay of the County A Final, having, by the skin of their teeth, drawn the week before. Missing county star, Darragh Kennedy, through suspension, it was a big ask to go out and bring home the honours to the parish and they came up short on a score-line of 4-12 to 2-12. However, they can hold their heads up high on reflection on a great season.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ PARTY: Murroe/Boher Senior Citizens’ Party takes place on this coming Sunday, December 1, in the Muintir na Tíre Hall, Murroe, starting with mass at 1 pm and lunch at 2 pm. Tickets are €15-00.

45 DRIVE RESULTS: The winners of last week’s 45 Drive were: First prize of €180 went to Paddy Lee & Liam Shinnors. Second prize of €70 went to Maureen & Tom Ryan. Third prize of €60 went to Kathleen Costelloe & Willie Ryan and Paddy Rainsford & John Blackwell and John & Mary Riordan. Table prizes were won by Kathleen Boyle & Peggy Fitzgerald and Mary Cooke & J. Berkery. Look out for the Marian Club super 45 drive on Tuesday, December 3, as above.

CHURCH NEWS: A church gate collection will take place on this coming weekend, November 30/December 1, for the St Vincent de Paul Society. Mass for all parishioners who died during the year will be celebrated on this Friday, November 29, in Murroe church at 7-30 pm. Rosaries continue in the cemeteries during November at 3 pm. The CD of the Junior Choir is still for dale with all profits going to St> Vincent’s, Lisnagry. They are available in all retail outlets in Murroe.

BLOOD TRANSFUSION CLINIC: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a blood donor clinic in the Community Centre, Newport, on Thursday, December 5 from 6 pm to 9 pm.

SLIABH FEILIM SINGERS: Sliabh Feilim Singers promise another enjoyable evening at this year’s annual Christmas Concert in Abington Church, Murroe, at 5 pm, on this coming Sunday, December 1. Guest artists this year are Anna Jane Ryan on violin, Don O’Shea on guitar and Siobhán Egan, soprano/harp. Admission is €10, with children free and all proceeds go to the St Vincent de Paul Society.
