Would ministers be aware that only one duty may be undertaken at mass. The weekly prayer meeting takes place on Monday at 8pm and all are welcome. Weekday masses in Patrickswell will be at the usual time of 9-30am. Weekend masses in Ballybrown will be at 8pm on Saturday, and 10am on Sunday.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: The weekly session of Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in Patrickswell Church on Saturdays from 8am until 12noon, and in Ballybrown on Wednesdays from 6 to 8pm. Further to this arrangement, in The Church of The Blessed Virgin, Patrickswell, on Sunday December 8, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, there will be a special two hour Eucharistic Adoration session from 4 to 6pm, which will commence with the Holy Rosary, followed by a period for meditation and reflection. Then there will be an hour of silent adoration from 5 to 6pm, finishing with the Angelus at 6pm. All petitions, which can be put into the box at the back of the church over the next few weeks, will be prayed for during this time. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to drop in at any stage during the afternoon, even if only for a few minutes, and take some time out for peace and healing. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
FIRST EUCHARIST PREPARATION: As part of the preparation for their First Eucharist, under the theme of, “Do this in memory of me”, children from second class of Patrickswell and Ballybrown Schools accompanied by their parents, were welcomed by Fr.Michael to the 11-30am mass last Sunday. All the children were invited to bring prayer candles to the altar at the commencement of mass, and take them home afterwards. Fr.Michael thanked the parents in the Programme Planning Group for their assistance in implementing the programme. The children will make one more attendance at mass before Christmas, and the ceremony will take place in May.

COLLECTION: There was a tremendous response to the Syria-Philippine appeal the weekend before last, with donations amounting to €965, for which you are warmly thanked. Those who watched over last weekend’s church gate collection also wish to thank everyone most sincerely for the support received for the annual seasonal appeal in aid of the Redemptorists’ Poor Campaign. Your continued generosity is appreciated and acknowledged.
FRIDAY CLUB: Our November lunch last Friday was extremely well supported with over twenty members and guests attending, which brought a very warm and homely atmosphere to proceedings, along with the soup which was very well received given the wintry conditions on the day. This Friday’s lunch will be the last one, so we extend a very warm welcome to anyone who would care to avail of the opportunity to join us, and indeed every Friday, for a friendly chat over a cuppa, and many thanks to all for your continued support and generosity thus far.
PATRICKSWELL PAST AND PRESENT: The eagerly anticipated launch of the book, “Patrickswell Past and Present” takes place this Saturday, November 30, in the Cú Chulainn, at 8-30pm. Commissioned by the Community Council to celebrate this Year of the Gathering, the publication promises to be an absolute treasure chest of all things and everything possible of the history of Patrickswell and its surrounding areas.
The paperback edition will be priced at 10, and there is also a Limited Edition hardback edition available at 40. YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCTION: The punk music scene of the 1970s and how it inspired an entire generation of young people to “stand up and be counted”, is the subject of a full-length play entitled, Punk Guerrillas, that will be performed in the Honeyfitz Theatre, Lough Gur, Co.Limerick, by the County Limerick Youth Theatre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 6, 7 and 8. GRAVEYARD SURVEY: There will be a showcase on Tuesday December 3 in the Desmond Complex, Newcastle West, detailing the work which has been carried out to date by local volunteers to survey historic graveyards in the West Limerick area.
