Card Game: The winners of first prize at this weeks card game were Betty Brosnan, Kathleen Lenihan and Lena O Connor. In runners up position were the team of Nora Lyons, Anita Danaher and Ann Cahill. The table prize was won by Marian Roche, Noel Murphy and Ned Murphy. The winner of the door prize was Denis Flannagan with the raffle prizes going to Ann Cahill, Nora Lyons, Denis Flannagan (Twice), and John Lyons. Cards as usual next Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.
Get Well Wishes: We all send our get well wishes to two of our parishioners, Nora O Connor, Seacontgloss and Bernadette Brosnan, Riverside Drive who are both making a good recovery from a recent illness.
Club na Nog: The annual general meeting of Mountcollins Club na Nog will be re-convened on this Thursday night, November 28 at 7pm in the Community Centre. The main purpose of the meeting is to elect a secretary and hopefully the modest attendance of the last meeting can be improved upon, especially from the parents.
Soccer Lotto: The numbers drawn in last week’s soccer lotto were 9, 13, 16 and 25. There was one winner of the jackpot prize which was €12,700. Congratulations to Ned Sheehan, Caherlevoy, Mountcollins who matched all four lucky numbers. The winners in the lucky dip draw were Maria Fay, Brosna, Ita Pattman, C/o Kostal, Domnic Naughton, Sean Lenihan, Mountcollins and Jabwnska W, C/o Kostal. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Evan Lacy. This week’s jackpot will be €1,000.
Prize Winner: Congratulations to Mary Lyons, Ballycommane, who received an early Christmas present during the week, Mary is a yearly subscriber to the Fighting Blindness charity and was pleasantly surprised to win a new car in their last draw. Well done Mary and Happy Motoring.
Sale of Work: The annual sale of work will be held in the Mountcollins, Community Centre on Friday December 6 at 7.30pm. Items for the sale or donations can be given to any committee member and your support for the event would be greatly appreciated.
Gifts for Christmas: A demonstration on Fussed Glass jewellery will be given in Rockchapel Community Centre on Tuesday, December 19 at 8pm. The display will be given by Margaret O Donovan, Newmarket. Admission is €5 which will include a draw on the doo ticket as well as refreshments and all are welcome.
Car Boot Sale: The annual car booth fund raising sale will be held in the Mountcollins Community Centre on Sunday, December 8 from 11am to 3pm. Why not come along and pick up a bargain for Christmas with all goods available at reasonable prices. Outside stall holders are welcome, please contact Mary, Joanie or Marian for booking.
G.A.A. Lotto: The members drawn in last weeks Mountcollins / Tournafulla G.A.A. lotto were, 5, 10, 13 and 28. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Patrica Keane, Templeglantine, Helen O Reilly, Tournafulla, Seamus Horgan, Tournafulla and Maurice Curtin, Tournafulla. The winner of the promoters prize was Dan Horgan. This weeks draw will be held in Tommy Micks Bar, Mountcollins where the jackpot will be 2,200 and your support is appreciated.
Under 21 Football: The under 21 footballers made their exit from the championship on last Friday night and the players and management of the Feale Rangers team will be very disappointed in the manner of another game left behind them. Like the games against Fr. Casey’s and Newcastle West in previous rounds this game against St. Kieran’s was there for the taking but once again poor finishing from placed balls left the side down. The game finished level at Feale Rangers 3-7, St. Kieran’s 1-13 but Rangers needed a win to stay in the competition. Recent Death: Sympathy is extended to the family of Brede O Sullivan, Caherlevoy, Mountcollins who passed away during the past week in St. Its’s Hospital, Newcastle West. Burial took place in Mountcollins after Requiem Mass on Friday. May she Rest in Peace.

Tea Dance: A Tea Dance will be held in Fr. Casey’s Gaa club on Sunday December 8. Music will be provided by Donnie Walsh with dancing from 3pm to 6pm. Refreshments and spot prizes will be available during the evening. All proceeds in aid of The Ray of Sunshine foundation which will see local volunteers, Mary Barry, Patrick Lenihan and Seamus Hickey travel to Kenya in January 2014 to help in the construction of a school for deprived children in Mombasa.
