HARD TIMES 1: will be screened in the Classic Cinema, Listowel, on Friday December 6 at 8pm. All proceeds donated to Aras Mhuire Nursing Home, Listowel. Set in Kerry in the 1950s. A story about a servant girl looking for work. A farmer takes her on and she sees hard times. A local cast from Athea, Glin and Moyvane, plus 60 extras. The film is 2 hours. GLIN BABY AND TODDLER GROUP: would genuinely like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support with the collection going straight to the Philippines. We were inundated with nappies, wipes, bottles, shoes, toiletries and immaculate items of clothing. We honestly did not expect the response to be so great. So many individuals/committees donated so generously to this worthy cause that we can never thank you enough. So many will benefit from you kind donations. Go raibh míle maith agat.
SEMINAR FOR THE OVER 55’S: Co. Limerick Community and Voluntary Forum (the representative voice of the active community and voluntary sector in the county at decision making level) are hosting an information afternoon at the Day Care Centre, Abbeyfeale on Thursday, November 28 from 2 -4pm with speakers including Denis Joy, Abbeyfeale Fire Station Officer, Muintir Na Tire’s James O’Neill and solicitor Orla Dennison. There will also be a crime prevention officer available to answer questions on how to keep safe. Tea, Coffee and Light Refreshments will be served. Fire alarms for the elderly will be available free of charge. All those over the age of 55 are invited from the West Limerick area. Further information 087 6866450.
