LOURDES GROUP ANNUAL MASS: The 15th annual Mitchelstown Carmelite Lourdes Group Mass will be held in the Parish Church this Saturday night September 21st 7.30pm in remembrance of the deceased of the parish and surrounding areas. Candles can be purchased at the main door in the Church on Saturday night. All are welcome.

BALLYHOURA DEVELOPMENT: The following courses are offered in Mitchelstown by Ballyhoura Development: COOKING ON A BUDGET : There will be a 10 week cooking/baking class in the community house one morning per week. Included in the class will be learning how to prepare easy nutritious meals on a budget for a family and all ingredients will be provided, this course is free and participants will receive a pack of cooking utensils each on completion. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISES FETEC LEVEL 5 : In this course participants will explore key concepts such as sustainability and quality of life, carrying capacity and sustainable communities. They will gain awareness of the interconnectivity of development issues and systems (including environmental, societal and economic) and develop abilities to problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, facilitation and communication. Participants will draw up a vision of a sustainable community, set sustainability indicators. carryout a life cycle analysis and develop a workshop on an environmental issue of their choice, incorporating education for sustainable development methodologies.
